Gravel
Gravel was born in the 2010s in the USA. American cyclists have favored less dangerous and less traveled roads by using its poorly maintained lanes. This is why it is called Gravel meaning "gravel" in English. It is a bike called "hybrid" it is between the road bike and the all-terrain bike, focused a lot on the pleasure of adventure.
This discipline has developed a lot over the years and gravel competitions have emerged such as the GravelMan or the world gravel championship. The advantage of gravel is that it is a versatile bike, if you want to venture on the road through more rugged paths it is quite possible, it will adapt very well of course n' any surface. Fluidity, speed and versatility are the watchwords of the gravel bike.
The gravel bike being a so-called "hybrid" bike halfway between the road bike and the mountain bike, its design is still different from these 2 types of bikes. The frame will be more comfortable than on a road bike, in carbon or aluminum. Aluminum is more economical than carbon fiber giving it this advantage with cyclists looking for a high-performance gravel bike, but within their budget. However, some cyclists will appreciate the advantage of carbon fiber for its ultra-lightness. On the gravel bike the braking will be done with disc, curved grips at the level of the handlebars, as well as an ultra light weight to favor accelerations. However, this type of bike will always be heavier than a road bike.
For any self-respecting gravel bike, several fixing points will be present to hang pannier racks, bottle cages, etc. The ideal bike for hiking, we told you!
