Speedelecs or E-bike Speedbikes

Electric bicycles of the Speedbikes type or otherwise called Speedelecs are powerful and fast E-bike. They have a maximum speed of 45km/h with motor assistance, which places them in the category of mopeds governed by simple legislation:

• The driver must hold an A, B or AM driving license (“Apprenti Motard” license formerly titled “BSR”)

• Subscription to moped insurance

• Registration is done online on the website of the National Agency for Secure Titles (ANTS)

• Wearing a helmet is compulsory (moped approved)

• Prohibition of riding on cycle paths

How to buy a 45km/h Speedbike online?

Nothing could be simpler to order your Speedelec on the Internet with LVR Cycles! Simply purchase the E-bike like any bike for sale on our website. Then you will receive your invoice including the serial number of the electric bike and all the references required for the registration application. This request is made in exactly the same way as a motorcycle or a car: either on the ANTS government website, or at a garage offering vehicle registration.

You will receive your registration document by post and all you will need to do is take out moped insurance (at least bodily injury civil liability to comply with French regulations).
