The Zipp 858 NSW Disc is Zipp 's ultimate aero weapon. It's even faster than before thanks to the exclusive Total System Efficiency (TSE) technology. Using TSE technology, the 858 NSW Tubeless Carbon Disc Brake Wheelset features a hookless tubeless rim profile that creates a seamless interface with the tire and allows for a nice weight reduction. The 858 gives you all the benefits of our high profile rims for a weight traditionally reserved for rims 20mm lower. The internal width of the wheel is 23 mm; ideal for mounting wider tires with lower pressures to reduce rolling resistance. That's how TSE technology helps you fight the four barriers to speed: Wind resistance, gravity, rolling resistance and vibration loss. Our patented Sawtooth profile for the 858 NSW 82mm/85mm variable profile rim is the highest performing shape we offer for aerodynamics and crosswind stability. The 858 NSW benefits from Zipp 's Carbon Internal Reinforcement (CiR) technology which results in a rim that is 10% lighter and just as resistant as previous models. The result is pure speed, especially for triathletes, time trial specialists and any other speed enthusiast. Also, even though this wheelset is optimized for tubeless tyres, you still have the option of mounting tubeless compatible tires with an inner tube. The 858 NSW offers optimal speed with a 28mm tire In triathlon, fitting wider tubeless tires with lower pressures not only improves your speed but also dampens vibrations generated by the road surface. The result: reduction of physical fatigue when attacking the race. Disc brakes also allow for more reliable speed modulation and more efficient stopping power in all weather conditions. At the heart of the 858 NSW is the Cognition V2 hub, a hub featuring the Axial Clutch V2 mechanism that guarantees faster engagement, reduced friction and improved durability.
