The Zipp 303 Firecrest tubeless wheelset for rim brakes is extremely versatile to open up new possibilities for riding on the road. Yet rooted in tradition, it brings many innovations. As agile in the mountains as it is in hilly regions, on windswept country lanes and fierce sprints. At Zipp , we never rest on our laurels. This tubeless wheelset has an internal width of 19mm. This means you can opt for lower tire pressure to gain grip in corners and reduce rolling resistance without the risk of a pinch flat. When it comes to extreme speed, the 303 Firecrest tubeless scores serious points. It's lightweight thanks to ABLC™ Sawtooth™ technology, which is a complex dimpled texture originally developed for our high-end NSW wheels. This technology provides the ultimate in aerodynamic drag reduction and crosswind stability that we call AeroBalance™. Zipp 's textured Showstopper™ braking surface guarantees unmatched braking performance in wet or dry conditions. At the heart of the Zipp 303 Firecrest tubeless rim brake is the ZR1, a durable and versatile new hub designed in Germany.
Our industry-leading silicone carbide Showstopper™ drag track continues to evolve and improve, delivering unmatched stopping power and modulation regardless of weather conditions or length of descent.
Our new ABLC Sawtooth footprint design features 12 nodes that are specifically distributed so that aerodynamic shear takes effect at a frequency of 50 Hz when the rider is riding at 24 km/h. Sawtooth accomplishes this feat by inducing small vortex sheets that flow at low intensity, but at a higher natural frequency, thereby decreasing the laminar bubble effect on the opposite side of the rim profile exposed to the wind, to further reduce the strong drag and to improve stability against side winds.
AeroBalance™ simultaneously reduces both aerodynamic drag and side force
The XDR™ driver body is a universal mounting system for cassettes that incorporate cogs with fewer than 11 teeth. It allows for lighter and more versatile drivetrains without requiring new rear axle standards, cassette tools or hub redesigns. The XDR™ interface is 1.85mm longer than XD™ and is designed for road hub applications. XDR™ driver bodies are compatible with all XD™ cassettes when the cassette is installed with a 1.85mm spacer.
Zipp wheels, handlebars, stems and seatposts are guaranteed for life against damage that occurs while riding. Lifetime warranty is not transferable. Proof of purchase is required.
