The heart of this new groupset is the revolutionary HYPERGLIDE+ shifting technology. First introduced on Shimano MTB groupsets, this unique interface between chain and cassette gently guides the chain up and down the cassette for fast, precise shifting in both directions, even under extreme load pedaling. It is therefore no longer necessary to reduce the pressure on the pedals before changing gear. HYPERGLIDE+ ensures smooth and efficient shifting, every time.

HOLLOWGLIDE

The highly rigid hollow structure reduces weight while maintaining the same rigidity. More efficient power transfer and a more immediate and precise chainring.

HOLLOWTECH II

The concept of HOLLOWTECH II technology is focused on producing a superior bottom bracket that will maximize the rider's power transfer. The stiffness of the crankset ensures pedaling efficiency while its weight, a key element of the crankset, you want light, helps pedal longer distances where the rider needs to pedal more. HOLLOWTECH Technology is an ultra-lightweight hollow crank arm created by SHIMANO using the company's proprietary forging technology, which also maintains stiffness. The addition of HOLLOWTECH II technology integrates the bottom bracket spindle with the right crank arm for added rigidity and weight savings to achieve high-dimensional balance. Its external bottom bracket bearing system ensures better weight distribution and more pedaling stability, allowing for more efficient power transfer.
