Proven, efficient and popular: the Minion DHF folding tire from Maxxis

Undoubtedly the most used Downhill tire and the one that has had the most success in recent years. Proven elements such as chamfered lugs for low rolling resistance and a smooth ride have been combined with split lugs for grippy edges. This gives it remarkable directional stability and precise cornering behavior. The new puncture protection makes the tire even more durable.

Manufacturer's Notes:

Maxxis strongly advises against the use of an ammonia-based sealing fluid. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and can weaken it by 30% in just a few months, depending on the amount used.
Maxxis recommends the use of Tire Plasma Sealant Fluid.

Technology:

3C MaxxTerra

The Maxxis 3C running surface is a single piece made of 3 different rubber compounds, not two bands joined together later. The tread surfaces can thus be formed exactly according to the requirements of each tire model, allowing the driving characteristics to be optimized.
The Freeride version of the Maxxis 3C compound. More grip and traction than 3C MaxxSpeed compound, while offering lower rolling resistance and better durability than 3C MaxxGrip. The ideal Enduro and Freeride compound, as it combines good rolling resistance uphill with super grip downhill.

EXO+ Protection

This carcass combines EXO Protection with SilkShield puncture protection for even more protection and safety. The sidewalls are more stable, the penetration protection is significantly improved and the puncture protection on the running surface completes the package.

Wide Trail (WT)

This construction optimizes the profile and shape of the tire for wider modern rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrower rims and get too square of a shape on wider rims, which hurts performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35mm, but also work perfectly on all rims with an inner width of 30 - 40mm.

Tubeless Ready

Tubeless tires have several advantages: they can be used with lower pressure. This achieves better traction and lower rolling resistance. And without an inner tube, the risk of a puncture also decreases. Maxxis TR tires are better prepared for mounting with a sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires, because the bead of Maxxis TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This guarantees a successful tubeless mounting for all popular rims and sizes from the first inflation and without having to use a lot of fluid.
