After the launch in 2013 of the first saddles with CPC technology, a patented system with three-dimensional conical nano-structures that increase grip and vibration absorption, we decided to extend 3D technology to the entire saddle to create a new ultra-light model with innovative multi-sector coverage designed from pressure test analysis.

The Prologo NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS saddle features the same ergonomic T-shape and compact dimensions (245x137 mm) of the NAGO R4, the new multidisciplinary saddle already adopted by several professionals such as Tadej Pogačar, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas, Pello Bilbao and Alberto Bettiol.


The NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS was born from the study of MyOwn pressure mapping tests, an exclusive system from Prologo which allowed a scientific analysis of the pressure zones exerted on the saddle by various professional and amateur cyclists.

The data collected made it possible to design and create an extremely lightweight 3D saddle, with coverage made up of separate sectors that can better adapt to different pressure zones and guarantee maximum support and comfort during all phases of pedaling.


The cover of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS combines MSS - Multi Sector System technology with an innovative 3D printing process, which has made it possible to create five separate sectors for each side of the saddle, which can optimally adapt to the different individual pressure zones and adapt to the cyclist's body shape.

Each sector has different complex geometric shapes, variable densities and differentiated elastic coefficients, depending on the position and function:

  • the rear section, with high density and high elastic coefficient, to provide better support to the ischial bones and facilitate the traction phase of pedaling;
  • the 3 central sections have a low density and a medium elastic coefficient, to provide maximum comfort where the soft tissues rest;
  • the front section has a medium density and a low elastic coefficient to provide good support even when it is necessary to pedal at the end of the saddle.


Part of our design efforts also focused on improving a typical weakness of 3D-made saddles, their weight, which is notoriously higher than that of traditional saddles.

Using data from the MyOwn pressure mapping tests, it was possible to identify areas of the saddle where applied pressures were lower. The sections of the cover in these areas have been made with specific 3D geometric shapes designed to limit the amount of material used, but without compromising comfort or limiting the performance of the saddle.

The injected long fiber carbon base and Nack rail (nano carbon fibers) also help to further reduce overall weight, while ensuring maximum rigidity.

The result ? The weight of the new NAGO R4 PAS 3DMSS is only 149 grams. The lowest absolute weight compared to all 3D models currently on the market.
