For the rider who loves leaving the tarmac for steeper, rougher tracks, and wants precise shifting in all conditions. It will appeal to mountain bikers who have come to gravel and will find a derailleur and cassette straight from the MTB world.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. The frame of the Checkpoint+ SL 6 AXS is OCLV Series 500: a carbon that Trek compacts under heat and pressure to eliminate micro-voids, producing a strong frame without excess material. It incorporates IsoSpeed, which decouples the seat tube to filter out shocks, a UDH hanger ready for SRAM T-Type derailleurs and a chainstay guard. Trek's lifetime warranty covers this frame.

In short: the SL 6 AXS takes the frame and motor of the SL 5 and moves to wireless SRAM GX Eagle AXS in its T-Type version, bolted directly to the UDH hanger. At 13.76 kg in ML, it is the lightest Checkpoint+ SL quoted by Trek.
A "mullet" drivetrain combines a single chainring, drop bars and an MTB derailleur: here, SRAM GX Eagle AXS T-Type with an XS-1275 cassette from 10 to 52 teeth. The big sprocket lets you spin up the steep tracks on the foothills of the Caroux, even with the assist at its lowest, and direct mounting on the UDH hanger does away with a fragile derailleur hanger.
Wireless shifting is unaffected by the dust and water that clog cable housings; you just recharge the AXS battery from time to time. The TQ HPR60, with 60 Nm and 350 W peak, stays discreet and, as e-bike regulations require, its help stops at 25 km/h. The TQ LED display talks to your bike computer via Bluetooth and ANT+.
| Model | Motor / battery | Drivetrain | Wheels / fork | Weight (ML) |
| Checkpoint+ SL 5 | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | Shimano GRX 1x12, 10-51 | Alloy, carbon fork | 13.81 kg |
| Checkpoint+ SL 6 AXS | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | SRAM GX Eagle AXS, 10-52 | Alloy, carbon fork | 13.76 kg |
| Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | SRAM X0 Eagle AXS, 10-52 | Carbon, Rudy XPLR 40 mm | 14.05 kg |
| Domane+ ALR 5 | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | SRAM Apex XPLR 1x12, 11-44 | Alloy, 32 mm tyres | 14.39 kg |
Our take: at 13.76 kg in ML, the SL 6 AXS is 50 g lighter than the Shimano GRX SL 5 and 290 g lighter than the SL 7 AXS, which adds a RockShox Rudy fork and carbon wheels. In our view, it is the best-balanced compromise in the range.

| Does the derailleur need charging? | Yes, its AXS battery recharges like a phone, every so often. |
| Does a bike computer connect to the motor? | Yes, the TQ display has Bluetooth and ANT+. |
| Do the two blues contrast? | Gently: a light fjord blue that melts into a cobalt blue. |
|
The LVR Cycles verdict The lightest Checkpoint+ SL quoted by Trek, with a wireless drivetrain borrowed from mountain biking for steep tracks. Its fjord blue fading to cobalt gives it a genuinely fresh look.
