For the rider who seeks out the roughest tracks, stony garrigue and broken trails, and wants to keep hands and shoulders fresh on a long ride. It will also appeal to the long-distance rider who wants a bike that is high-end in every respect.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. On the Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS, Trek pairs an OCLV Series 500 frame, shaped under heat and pressure, with a carbon seatpost and Aeolus Elite 35V wheels, also in carbon. The frame keeps the IsoSpeed, the hidden cable routing and the many mounts shared by the Checkpoint+ SL range. Trek's lifetime warranty applies to this OCLV frame.
| Checkpoint+ SL (carbon) | Domane+ SL (road carbon) | Domane+ ALR (aluminium) | |
| Level | Carbon electric gravel | Carbon electric road | Alloy for road and tracks |
| Construction | OCLV 500, IsoSpeed, luggage mounts | OCLV 500, TQ HPR40 motor | Alpha Series 300, TQ HPR60 motor |

| What it changes | 42 mm tyres, 50 mm clearance | Lighter, 35 mm tyres | Heavier, 32 mm tyres |
In short: the SL 7 AXS is the Checkpoint+ SL best equipped for tough trails. A 40 mm RockShox Rudy XPLR suspension fork, carbon wheels and a SRAM X0 Eagle AXS drivetrain are added, for 290 g more than the SL 6 AXS.
The 40 mm of the Rudy XPLR is enough to smooth out the stones and ruts of garrigue tracks without turning the bike into a mountain bike: the steering stays lively and the Solo Air spring is adjusted by air pressure according to your weight. Combined with the rear IsoSpeed, it reduces fatigue on long days off the tarmac.
The Aeolus Elite 35V carbon wheels and the Verse Short Elite saddle with magnesium rails save weight, offsetting some of the fork's extra grams. The SRAM X0 Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain, on an XS-1295 10-52 cassette, shifts wirelessly, and the TQ colour LED display shows the assist level, which cuts out at 25 km/h as on any e-bike.
| Model | Motor / battery | Drivetrain | Wheels / fork | Weight (ML) |
| Checkpoint+ SL 5 | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | Shimano GRX 1x12, 10-51 | Alloy, carbon fork | 13.81 kg |
| Checkpoint+ SL 6 AXS | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | SRAM GX Eagle AXS, 10-52 | Alloy, carbon fork | 13.76 kg |
| Checkpoint+ SL 7 AXS | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | SRAM X0 Eagle AXS, 10-52 | Carbon, Rudy XPLR 40 mm | 14.05 kg |
| Domane+ ALR 5 | TQ HPR60 / 360 Wh | SRAM Apex XPLR 1x12, 11-44 | Alloy, 32 mm tyres | 14.39 kg |
Our take: the SL 7 AXS weighs 14.05 kg in ML, 290 g more than the SL 6 AXS (13.76 kg): that is the price of the suspension fork, partly offset by the carbon wheels. On smooth tracks, the SL 6 AXS is enough; on rough terrain, the Rudy makes the difference.
