The Trek Domane SLR 9 AXS No. 76 is a limited series of fewer than 500 bikes worldwide, created for the brand's 50th anniversary. Beneath its traditional blue paint and vintage Trek logo lies a thoroughly modern Domane: OCLV Series 900 carbon, SRAM RED AXS E1 2x12 with power meter and Aeolus RSL 37 wheels, for 7.19 kg in size ML. Its ICON No. 76 colourway, blue and white, is inspired by the brand's first bikes.

Who is it for?

For the Trek enthusiast or the collector who wants a rare bike, designed to be ridden rather than hung on the wall. It will suit the demanding sportive rider looking for the spec of an SLR 9 AXS with lighter wheels and a bike you don't see on every ride.

The LVR workshop view

OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. An anniversary edition had to be built on the brand's best carbon. OCLV 900 takes the principle Trek defined in 1992, compacting the sheets under heat and pressure to eliminate micro-voids, and pushes it further with rigid 3D moulding and reduced overlaps. The Domane frame saves about 220 g compared with OCLV 500 and gains up to 20 % in strength compared with the previous OCLV 800. If the No. 76 weighs 100 g less than the standard SLR 9 AXS, it is mainly thanks to its 37 mm RSL rims, shallower than the 51 mm, and its Aeolus RSL saddle.

The 37 mm rims change the ride: less crosswind grab, lower inertia when accelerating and a bike that is easier to place when the tramontane blows in gusts. The drivetrain is identical to that of the SLR 9 AXS: 48/35, 10-36 cassette and a power meter built into the chainset.

Worth knowing: for this edition, Trek specifies longer cranks than on the standard SLR 9 AXS (165 mm from XS, 172.5 mm in L and XL); we take this into account when choosing the size. Maintenance is the same as for any Domane SLR, carried out in the workshop.
