Ergon GP1 Evo Regular MTB Grips

Discover the Ergon GP1 Evo Regular grips , designed to provide optimal comfort and relieve hand and wrist pain thanks to their ergonomic and innovative design.

The best improved comfort grip

Ergon has further improved and refined the best-selling wing grip. The GP1 Evo is the new benchmark in hand comfort and support, free from harmful substances and exceeds strict EU quality standards with SGS certification. The Evo version takes the original multi-award winning comfort grip to the highest level of ergonomics and comfort. Design, development and manufacturing are carried out in Germany to ensure the highest quality product with increased durability and minimal waste generation.

Goodbye to hand pain and finger numbness

Hand pain while cycling is common, especially on long rides. With conventional, unsupportive round grips, riders often experience finger numbness, as well as pain and irritation in the palms and wrists. Discomfort in the forearms, arms, neck and shoulders can also be attributed to unsuitable grips with poor support. With the iconic GP1 finned shape, Ergon has brought comfort to millions of riders for over 20 years.

Pressure distribution, nerve protection

When cycling, a significant part of the body's weight rests on the hands, which results in a lot of pressure on a small area of the handles. This often compresses the extremely sensitive ulnar nerve, which runs beneath the surface of the skin at the little finger. The finned shape of the GP1 Evo, scientifically adapted to the hand, effectively distributes pressure over a larger area, preventing discomfort.

Aligned cuffs to avoid discomfort

Overly bent wrists while cycling compress nerves, tendons and blood vessels. This can lead to severe pain and mobility problems of the median nerve. The GP1 Evo's ergonomic finned design gently supports the wrist in an ergonomically optimized position, effectively relieving pain and numb finger tingling.

Two sizes for optimal pressure distribution

To effectively distribute pressure on the handlebars and avoid discomfort, it is important that the hand does not completely envelop the grips. Ergon offers the GP1 Evo in “Small” and “Large” sizes. The difference between the two sizes lies in the thickness of the handle in hand. A thicker grip provides an optimal fit for a larger hand, while a thinner grip is more beneficial for a smaller hand. For hand/glove sizes 6.5 to 8.5 (16.5 cm to 21.5 cm), the Ergon brand recommends “Small”, for 8.5 to 10.5 (21.5 cm to 26.5 cm), “Large” is generally preferable.

Made in Germany

  • Maximum quality
  • Short production times
  • Increased durability

Design, development, manufacturing - the GP1 Evo is "Made in Germany". This ensures the highest standards in manufacturing processes:

  • Maximum product quality
  • Accelerated production and delivery times
  • Secure supply chains

By sourcing all raw materials in Germany and using exclusively recycled plastics, the Ergon brand also contributes to increased sustainability and minimal waste generation.

Unique rubber grips

  • Without harmful substances
  • SGS certified

GP1 Evo's unique LongLife rubber compound exceeds European quality standards, is free of harmful substances and SGS certified. It even meets European standards for toys and food - a particularly important aspect for gloveless cyclists whose hands often have direct contact with the grips for hours. Two grip rubber hardnesses provide the best cushioning and comfort.

Secure, simple, subtle

  • Forged aluminum collar for safety

Extremely safe and easy to assemble. With a single aluminum clamp, each grip is attached to the handlebars. The high-quality forged aluminum collar allows for custom, ergonomically optimized fin angle adjustment. The collar screw is located on the underside of the handle, providing a clean appearance.

High-tech textures

  • Laser precision textures for each grip zone

In a technically perfected manufacturing process, the GP1 Evo received modern surface textures perfectly adapted to the hand. The laser-applied textures are not only precise, but also give the ergonomic wing exceptional comfort.

Comfortable and secure

  • Glass fiber reinforced plastic inner core

The inner core is essential to the performance and comfort of the GP1 Evo. The core provides security, dampens vibrations and allows the handle to fit comfortably in the hand. The internal core of the GP1 Evo is made of plastic that the Ergon brand has reinforced with glass fibers.

The Frobose formula

  • Quality seal for quality of life

The GP1 Evo was recommended by the "Froböse Formula". Developed by renowned university professor, health expert and best-selling author Prof. Dr. Ingo Froböse, the "Froböse Formula" is a scientific seal of quality for products in the fields of exercise, nutrition and regeneration - a guide to better quality of life, health and comfort.

A 20-year success story

From the original wing grip to the GP1 Evo
The Ergon GP1 has been the industry standard for bicycle wing grips for 20 years. Millions of satisfied cyclists have trusted the GP1. The world's best-selling grip has won countless tests and awards. For the Ergon brand, this was not enough. The Ergon brand has continually improved the original GP1 in terms of function, material and workmanship and now sets a new milestone with the GP1 Evo.

Always the perfect fit

Suitable for various gear shifting systems
The GP handle series is available in special configurations for different shifting systems. For trigger derailleurs, both grips are the same length. For Gripshift or Dual-Twist-Shift, both handles are shortened. For Rohloff, Nexus and Single-Twist-Shift, shifters are supplied with a short right handle and a full-length left handle. The Gripshift® handle variant comes under the GP1 model, not the GP1 Evo model.
