Stripped down to the essentials, the Ergon GXR Black grip model does exactly what cross-country runners and riders want: absorb shock, provide a secure grip, be lightweight, and provide an ergonomic fit. The GXR is the first lightweight, ergonomic grip made from AirCell-Rubber, which uses a new and unique manufacturing process. Super lightweight, no collar, no internal core, 100% made in Germany - the Ergon GXR defines a new chapter in mountain bike grips.
The Ergon GXR is 100% made in Germany. From development to production to material, the entire manufacturing process takes place in Germany. For the GXR, the Ergon brand has created a unique manufacturing process in Germany using expanded TÜV certified Ergon rubber compound.
For the first time in a lightweight mountain bike grip, the GXR combines lightweight construction and ergonomics. Using a new production process, the Ergon AirCell-Rubber is formed into a handle that is both ergonomic and tailored to the demands of mountain biking. The high-quality and unique AirCell-Rubber with its countless air microbubbles provides very high cushioning, provides a soft feel and reduces the weight of the handle. Conventional foam handles are pressed and formed in a mold. This process significantly limits the design. Ergonomic shaping is not possible or it is possible to coordinate surface texture areas for functional areas of the hand. These shortcomings lead to early rider fatigue and poor bike handling. With the ergonomic Ergon GXR, the cyclist has his racing bike under constant control.
Without an internal core or collar, the Ergon brand has managed to reduce the weight to 90 grams (Small size, including tips). If the rider wants to turn their cross-country bike into a lightweight racing rocket without sacrificing grip, control and ergonomics, they can do so with the GXR.
Mountain bike routes and routes are becoming more and more demanding. There is also a trend toward downcountry, where lightweight full suspension bikes with greater travel are used for faster backcountry racing and pursuits. Traditionally, bikes focused on being lightweight generally don't offer optimal ergonomics and control. This is where the Ergon GXR becomes the game changer on today's mountain bike cockpits: improved ergonomics, offered in two sizes (Small: 32mm and Large: 34mm), reduces discomfort and provides grip necessary to control the bike in all situations.
In a mountain bike grip, the exceptional grip feeling includes not only the ergonomic design but also the surface textures. The surfaces of the GXR are adapted and adjusted to the different areas of the hand. The GXR fits perfectly in the hand when it comes to the fastest mountain bike mission.
For extremely technical singletrack, 100% grip on the handlebars is required. The texture is aggressive on the GXR grips where the fingertips need to grip firmly.
