Ergon 's developers have taken a whole new approach to the topic of women's MTB saddles. After intensive research with X-ray and CT analysis, they have created a new generation of saddles. Countless prototypes have been tested by professionals and amateur cyclists. This feedback, combined with scientific data, has developed a new generation of comfort for women.

Pelvic flexibility

Women tend to swing more in the saddle than men due to increased flexibility in the pelvis and hips. This often causes considerable pressure in the genital area. The SM Women is designed to support a woman's wider, lower front pelvis while relieving sensitive soft tissue with a tapered cutout.

Inferior pubic symphysis

Anatomically, the symphysis pubis (anterior cartilaginous connection between the two halves of the pelvis) is about a quarter lower in women than in men. Also, the angle of the pubic bones relative to each other is greater. These distinguished differences are taken into account with the development of the SMC Women to prevent discomfort in sensitive areas.

Specific relief

Due to the characteristics of the female pelvis, women have suffered from discomfort on standard stools for years. The SMC Women relieves pressure from sensitive soft tissue with the tapered relief channel preventing numbness and pain. Alleviating this pressure better distributes the rider's body weight to the seat bones while alleviating unwanted pressures in a forward-tilted position.

The padding of the SMC Women is thick orthopedic comfort foam. To meet the demands of mountain biking, the foam is shaped to be ergonomic with attention paid to particularly robust materials. This provides optimal ride support and pressure relief with the added benefit of durability.
