The BMC Timemachine Masterpiece 2026-2027 is a time trial frameset designed for performance-oriented and competitive cyclists. It's an elite frameset intended for time trials where aerodynamics, stiffness, and complete integration are paramount. This model is aimed at riders seeking equipment specifically developed for speed and efficiency in race conditions.
Developed around an Mpc. Premium Carbon frame, the Timemachine Mpc. combines advanced aerodynamic design, deep cockpit integration, and optimized performance of the entire system. Development was conducted with Tudor Pro Cycling to achieve measurable performance gains through a combination of CFD analysis, wind tunnel testing, rapid prototyping, and velodrome validation.

Modern time trials demand measurable gains at high speeds. The Timemachine Mpc. was developed in collaboration with Tudor Pro Cycling with a target speed improvement of 3%, by redesigning the shapes, interfaces, and airflow management.
Development at the Impec Lab is based on a continuous process combining design, CFD analysis, rapid prototyping, wind tunnel validation, and real-world testing, without interruptions due to external suppliers. Each element of the frame was individually optimized before integration into a complete aerodynamic system.
The project brought together Stefan Christ and the BMC Impec Lab team, Kurt Bergin-Taylor and the Tudor Pro Cycling Innovation team, John Glett for BMC , as well as Fabian Cancellara, owner of Tudor Pro Cycling.
The Timemachine Mpc. was developed in direct partnership with Tudor Pro Cycling, with requirements defined for competitive use and geared towards pure performance.
Fourth generation time trial platform developed via CFD analysis, wind tunnel campaigns, modular prototyping by 3D printing and velodrome validations, according to the process called AeroSynthesis.
With WorldTour time trials now won at speeds exceeding 55 km/h, the Timemachine Mpc aims for a 3% improvement in system performance. The frame alone boasts a claimed aerodynamic improvement of 37.6% compared to previous generations.
AeroSynthesis is BMC design philosophy aimed at harmonizing rider, frame, and components into a single system, through CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing, and real-world trials. The claimed result is reduced drag, optimized airflow, and high stability at high speeds.
The specific shapes and performance constraints of the Timemachine Mpc. require a high level of manufacturing and finishing, corresponding to the Masterpiece concept.
The Halo+ fork maximizes the fork crown width within UCI limits to improve aerodynamic performance. SpeedSlab optimizes aerodynamic gains according to the maximum tire size and UCI regulations, with a steeper attack angle. The narrow head tube and track-inspired Bayonet system use compact needle bearings for a stiff front end. PayloadFins seat stays are positioned behind the rider's legs to reduce drag and optimize airflow, while ensuring full heel clearance.
After hundreds of hours of CFD simulations, prototyping, wind tunnel testing, and velodrome validations, the platform achieved a system drag reduction of 4.1%. Following the new UCI regulations introduced for the 2026 season, the platform was adapted to remain compliant with a drag reduction of 3.7%, exceeding the initial target of 3%.
