The LOOK blade, with no compromise on weight

There's no coil spring in this pedal: the cleat is held by a LOOK-patented blade housed in a carbon body. The result is a 115 g pedal with a 705 mm² contact area and a foot positioned very close to the axle. This version comes with a tension-12 blade, the one LOOK recommends for riders who ride regularly, in the standard 53 mm Q-factor.

Features

  • Blade retention (Blade technology), no spring
  • Carbon body, Chromoly+ axle, steel bearings
  • 705 mm² contact area across 3 stainless steel plates, wide 64 mm platform
  • Q-factor 53 mm
  • Stack height 14.8 mm (8.5 mm pedal + 6.3 mm cleat)
  • 115 g per pedal, around 300 g per pair with cleats (manufacturer data)
  • 12 blade fitted as standard, 8, 16 and 20 kits available
  • Keo standard, Keo Grip cleats supplied
  • 2-year LOOK warranty, extended to 3 years when you register the product

Keo Blade or Keo Blade Ceramic?

Both models share the same body, the same contact area and the same weight. The Ceramic swaps the steel bearings for ceramic bearings, which LOOK claims offer 18% less resistance and last 4 to 6 times longer. For training, sportives or club rides, the steel-bearing Keo Blade does the job perfectly; the Ceramic is for riders chasing that last bit of smoothness. Compared with the spring-based Keo 2 Max, the Blade adds 205 mm² of contact area and lowers the stack by 2.5 mm.

LVR workshop tip

The 12 blade suits most riders. If you're new to clipless pedals, an 8 blade kit will make unclipping more progressive; conversely, a sprinter who feels the cleat shift under load should move up to a 16. Swapping takes less than 30 seconds with the extraction tool supplied in every kit. Walk in Keo Covers to protect your cleats: play or inconsistent unclipping are signs it's time to replace them.
