The Profile Design ASC Pro Extensions 325 mm form a one-piece unit combining extensions and armrests for triathlon and time trial bikes. This 325 mm version is the shortest of the three lengths offered in the ASC Pro range.
Their design aims to offer a level of comfort and aerodynamics comparable to that of a custom-made cockpit, while retaining sufficient adjustability to optimize the rider's position. However, the one-piece body of the extensions cannot be adjusted in length.
ASC Pro handlebars require the use of specific ASC Pro mounts and are compatible with certain Profile Design base handlebars as well as a limited selection of cockpits specific to different bicycle brands. A3 systems are directly compatible, while handlebars using the A2 system require an A2-A3 adapter adding 15 mm of height.
The ASC Pro combines the extensions and forearm support area in an integrated construction. This architecture limits the number of separate components and allows for precise control of the overall aerodynamic shape.
With the ASC Pro, Profile Design returns to the category of one-piece extensions that it had helped to develop with the Sonic Stryke almost twenty years earlier.
The extension body cannot be shortened, lengthened, or moved independently of the armrest. Therefore, the length must be chosen based on the desired position and the compatibility of the cockpit.
This version measures 325 mm. It is the shortest of the three available lengths.
The 325 mm length should be selected according to the cyclist's morphology, the geometry of the bike, the desired aerodynamic position and the adjustment possibilities offered by the supports.
The one-piece design allows for continuity between the extensions and armrests without multiplying the junctions exposed to airflow.
The ASC Pro was developed to offer as many adjustment possibilities as possible without compromising the overall aerodynamic qualities.
Profile Design announces a level of comfort and aerodynamics comparable to that of a custom-made cockpit, while retaining possibilities for optimizing the position.
Since the extension body is fixed, position adjustments rely primarily on the ASC Pro mounts, spacers, and the possibilities offered by the compatible base handlebar.
The extension cables can be used with two versions of ASC Pro mounts.
ASC Pro extensions can only be installed on ASC Pro brackets. They require a specific screw spacing and mounting surface shape.
The ASC Pro brackets are part of the A3 riser system. They are therefore directly compatible with A3 components, without an A2-A3 adapter.
Handlebars using the A2 riser system are compatible with the addition of an A2-A3 adapter.
The A2-A3 adapter adds 15 mm to the overall height of the cockpit struts.
The ASC Pro can be considered on bikes already equipped with a compatible Profile Design Wing20C+ or Aeria Ultimate handlebar.
A frame that can accommodate a standard 1.125" stem, i.e. 28.6 mm, or a specific stem equipped with a 31.8 mm handlebar clamp may be compatible after installation of a suitable Profile Design base handlebar.
All versions of the restyled Canyon Speedmax CF, which will be available from April 2024, are listed as compatible.
The electronic versions of the 2019 to 2023 models have the H30 handlebar indicated as compatible in the guide.
The mechanical versions of the 2019 to 2023 models require the replacement of the basic handlebar with a compatible model.
Older hangers using the Profile Design A1 riser system are not compatible.
