The Profile Design Sonic Ergo 26a extender offers a wide range of adjustment, low weight and easy adjustment, and minimal frontal area. Combined with the Ergo Armrest, it creates an extender that will help most riders optimize their position for speed and comfort.
The 26A is one of the newest releases in their reliable line of aluminum extensions.
The Sonic/Ergo is designed to have minimal frontal area to create as little aerodynamic drag as possible. The main purpose of an aero extender is of course to put the rider in a fast position despite having a fairly minimalist appearance. The Sonic/Ergo offers a full range of adjustments for this purpose.
The 26a extensions have a 26° angle for grip. The rider can choose to hold them high for a more closed position or low for a more open, head-up position.
The length and rotation of the extensions can be easily adjusted using the top screw. There are 100 distinct position options achievable simply by moving the armrests. Associated with the risers, this extender offers 1500 possible configurations. As a removable extender, it is also possible to easily adjust the width and inclination of the extensions. This is the most adjustable removable extender on the market (and in history).
It's worth noting that their previous high-end aero extender, the J4/F35, offered 90 possible configurations. This highlights the significant advancement they have made with their next generation aero extenders in allowing riders to precisely adjust their position.
After launching the Supersonic (J5) as a premium mount with market leading fit and versatility options, they wanted to bring the same type of options to the rest of their range of mounts and therefore extenders aero. By simplifying the extension clamp and moving the wing forward to the centerline of the handlebars, they were able to achieve their goals. As a result of this simplification, the Sonic is the lightest mount in their current lineup.
The Ergo Armrest shares the reversible design of the rest of their next generation armrests. By swapping sides or pivoting armrests, small increments of movement are achieved, making it easy to fine-tune a rider's position or align with the position of their previous aero extender or bike .
