For the cyclist attached to Trek's history who wants a road bike with a unique design, for the limited-edition enthusiast who actually rides, or for someone who wants to mark a personal anniversary with an exceptional machine.
The LVR workshop view
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. Beneath the anniversary finish lies the production frame of the Madone SLR 9 AXS in OCLV Series 900: nothing has been sacrificed for looks. Trek has been perfecting this material since 1992, compacting each layer of fibre under heat and pressure to eliminate air pockets. Series 900 adds three-dimensional moulding that reduces ply overlaps; the result is 796 g for the painted frame in ML and 350 g for the fork, with the brand's lifetime warranty.
| OCLV 900 (Madone SLR) | OCLV 500 (Madone SL) | OCLV 800 (Speed Concept) | |
| Level | Trek's most refined carbon | Entry-level road carbon | Trek's former top-end road carbon |
| Construction | 3D moulding, reduced ply overlaps | Same process, more generous lay-up | Proven lay-up, integration comes first |
| Reference bike | Madone SLR: painted frame 796 g (ML), fork 350 g | Madone SL: painted frame 1,054 g (ML), fork 363 g | Speed Concept SLR: painted frame 1,522 g |
| What it means | 271 g less than the SL on frame and fork; up to 20% stronger than OCLV 800 | Same aero shapes, separate bar and stem, gentler budget | Still very high-performing, reserved for triathlon at Trek |
To sum up: the base is still a Madone SLR 9 AXS, frame and groupset included. The anniversary edition adds ICON paint, 58 mm deep Aeolus RSL 65X rims and a specific saddle; faster on long straights, these rims call for more vigilance when the wind blows across.
This No. 76 ICON also stands out with its 28 mm Bontrager Aeolus RSL RD cotton-casing tyres, more supple than conventional tyres. Combined with the 58 mm rims and IsoFlow, they give a ride that is both fast and comfortable, welcome on the long roads of the Lodévois.
The red and white saddle and the blue paint need gentle care: a mild cleaner, a microfibre cloth and no pressure washer. We prepare this bike with care, set the tyres up tubeless if you wish and adjust the AXS drivetrain before handover.
Which Madone should you choose?
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Wheels | Weight (size) |
| Madone SL 7 The First 50 Replica | OCLV 500 | Shimano Ultegra Di2 | Aeolus Pro 51 carbon | 7.87 kg (ML, standard) |
| Madone SLR 9 AXS | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS E1 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 51 carbon | 7.00 kg (ML) |
| The First 50 ICON | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS E1 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 65X carbon | 6.90 kg (ML) |
| No. 76 ICON | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS E1 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 65X carbon | 6.90 kg (ML) |
Our take: the two ICON editions share the same frame, groupset and wheels; only the paint and tyres differ. Compared with the standard SLR 9 AXS at 7.00 kg, they claim 6.90 kg with deeper rims.

LVR sizing advice Limited edition: check your size before reserving, as a later exchange is not guaranteed. The geometry is that of the racing Madone; between two sizes, choose the smaller for a low position, the larger for more comfort on long days.
