A rear light can sometimes get lost among the city lights; a light that turns with your pedal stroke, much less so. The Geo City Vision integrates a light module into each pedal offering 360° visibility, noticeable up to 900 m away according to LOOK. The module attaches magnetically, without tools, charges via USB-C and goes into standby after 30 seconds stationary, before switching back on as soon as you set off. Beneath the light, a wide composite platform with diamond-point multi-directional grip holds all kinds of shoes, with no pins at all.
Both speak to urban cyclists, with different priorities. The Geo City Grip aims for maximum grip thanks to its interchangeable Vibram inserts, ideal if you often ride in the rain. The Geo City Vision prioritises active safety: a moving light catches drivers' eyes, and it's also lighter (190 g versus 265 g per pedal). On a tight budget, the Geo City remains the version without lighting or Vibram.
These modules don't replace your bike's legally required lights: as LOOK points out, they complement a front and rear light. Get into the habit of charging them at the weekend, and remove them before leaving your bike locked up in the street to avoid temptation. In winter, check the battery indicator before you set off: the cold reduces the life of any battery.
