CORE 3D ®: INGENIOUS CONCEPT AND DESIGN

As you pedal, your weight is shifted back and forth to the left and right sit bones, causing pressure and discomfort. Ergon CORE 3D ® reduces this pressure thanks to the special and unique material properties of the ergonomic core. The bicycle saddle is allowed to adapt to the pelvis with each pedal stroke, which results in a huge gain in comfort.

INNOVATIVE INFINERGY®

BASF's innovative Infinergy ® material sets new standards for suspension and damping on the bike. The elastic core of the saddle supports the natural movements of the pelvis with each pedal stroke, absorbs road shocks and spares the lower back. When the pressure is released, the Ergon Core, made up of thousands of foam particles, springs back to its original shape in the blink of an eye, even under continuous load. Leading performance running shoe manufacturers are also using this E-TPU foam around the world with great success.

THE ADVANTAGES OF THE TWIN SHELL

The revolutionary CORE 3D ® saddle construction with double shell technology takes comfort to a whole new level. In a conventional saddle, there is only one saddle shell. This unique hull supports the load of the rider and therefore must be very rigid. The Ergon SC Core, on the other hand, has two shells. The majority of the rider's weight is carried by the stiffer bottom shell. On the upper flexible shell are the cushion and the seating surface. Between the two shells is the floating ergonomic core in Infinergy ® , which isolates shocks from the road, dampens vibrations, supports the movements of the pelvis during pedaling and significantly relieves the sit bones.

THE TWIN SHELL AND INNER CORE SHOCK ABSORBER

The view below of the SC Core Evo shows the entire saddle surface - the high performance elastomer shock absorber decouples the two saddle shells from each other. This sandwich construction with elastic core allows the saddle to follow natural pedaling movements more ergonomically in all three directions. Riding surface irregularities and vibrations are effectively filtered out thanks to Ergon CORE 3D ® .

ORTHOPEDIC FOAM

The padding of the SC Core is orthopedic comfort foam, which we designed for fitness bikes, e-bikes and touring bikes. The foam is supportive, soft, but does not collapse. In addition to the foam, specific gel inserts provide even more comfort under the seat. With this saddle, it is not absolutely necessary to wear shorts. The saddle is covered with sturdy microfiber to prevent abrasions and maintain the durability of the saddle.
