For the shorter rider who lives on the hills of Béziers and wants to ride back up from the centre without arriving out of breath. It also suits people returning to cycling after a long break who are looking for a reassuring bike.
The Verve+ 2 Lowstep, a step up in torque from the Verve+ 1. The same Alpha aluminium step-through frame and the same 50 mm NEX fork, but with a 65 Nm Bosch Performance Cruise motor, a 500 Wh Powerpack battery and an Intuvia display showing speed, mode and charge level. The suspension seatpost adds to the fork to filter out bumps under your hips.

In other words: this Verve+ 2 Lowstep stays light for a fully equipped electric bike (23.58 kg in M according to Trek) while offering 65 Nm and 500 Wh. The Intuvia display gives you proper ride information at a glance.
With 65 Nm, the Performance Cruise gives noticeably more support than the Active Line on the Verve+ 1 when pulling away on a hill, such as the climb up the allées towards Saint-Nazaire cathedral. The motor remains smooth: it doesn't surge, it follows the pressure on the pedal.
The Bosch Intuvia display, in the centre of the handlebar, shows speed, assistance mode, distance and charge level in large characters. You change mode from the handlebar without letting go of the grips, a real comfort when riding in town.
| Model | Motor | Battery | Drivetrain | Weight (size) |
| Verve+ 1 Lowstep (Powerpack) | Bosch Active Line 40 Nm | 300, 400 or 500 Wh | Shimano 8-speed 12-32 | 22.30 kg (M) |
| Verve+ 2 Lowstep (Performance Cruise) | Bosch Performance Cruise 65 Nm | 500 Wh | Shimano Acera/Altus 9-speed 11-36 | 23.58 kg (M) |
| Verve+ 2 Lowstep | Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm | 400 Wh | Shimano CUES 9-speed 11-36 | 25.40 kg (M) |
| Verve+ 3 Lowstep | Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm | 545 or 800 Wh | Shimano CUES 9-speed 11-36 | 26.59 kg (M) |
Our take: compared with the Verve+ 1 Lowstep (22.30 kg in M, 40 Nm), this Verve+ 2 Lowstep adds 25 Nm, a display and a suspension seatpost for 1.28 kg more. The current Verve+ 2 Lowstep moves up to 75 Nm and a 400 Wh integrated battery.
