The Trek Domane SLR 9 Gen 5 brings together OCLV Series 900 carbon, the electronic Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 2x12 drivetrain and Bontrager Aeolus RSL 51 wheels, for 7.34 kg in size ML. Its endurance geometry and 35 mm tyres are aimed at six- or seven-hour days, where staying fresh matters as much as speed. This Mother of Pearl/Silver Marble colourway combines a pearly white with marble-like silver veins that change with the light.

For the long-distance rider who lines up audaxes, long sportive routes or day rides into the hinterland. It is for the rider who wants the best equipment without adopting a race position: the 20 mm riser bar relieves your neck and back as the hours add up.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. The OCLV acronym refers to Trek's in-house method, applied since 1992: the carbon sheets are pressed and cured so as to drive out the air trapped between them. The Series 900 of the SLR 9 is the culmination of this process. Thanks to rigid 3D moulding and reduced fibre overlaps, the frame weighs approx. 835 g unpainted in ML, about 220 g less than a Domane SL, while being up to 20 % stronger than the previous OCLV 800. The rest of the gap with an SLR 7 comes from the components: Aeolus RSL wheels and Dura-Ace groupset.
| OCLV 900 (Domane SLR) | OCLV 500 (Domane SL) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced carbon | Entry-level carbon of the road range |
| Construction | Rigid 3D moulding, reduced fibre overlaps | More generous layup with more material |
| Gen 5 Domane frame | approx. 835 g (unpainted, size ML) | approx. 1,055 g |
| What it means | About 220 g less on the frame; up to 20 % stronger than the previous OCLV 800 | Same process, heavier and more affordable frame |
For long distances, though, it is the tyres that provide the comfort. The 35 mm Kwaremont RSL tyres can be set up tubeless and tolerate moderate pressure, which smooths out the coarse surfaces of the Minervois. The frame also takes bags thanks to its integrated mounts: a real asset for an audax or a lightly loaded self-supported weekend.
Dura-Ace R9250 Di2 keeps a 50/34 and an 11-34 cassette, classic sportive gearing, with crisp shifts even under load. At every service, our workshop updates the Di2 system; the threaded T47 bottom bracket makes bearing replacement simple.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Wheels | Weight (ML) |
| Domane SLR 7 | OCLV 900 | Shimano Ultegra Di2 2x12 | Aeolus Pro 51 | 7.66 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 | OCLV 900 | Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 2x12 | Aeolus RSL 51 | 7.34 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS 2x12 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 51 | 7.29 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS 1x | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x13 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 37 | 6.63 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS No. 76 | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS 2x12 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 37 | 7.19 kg |
Our take: with an identical frame, the SLR 9 weighs 320 g less than the SLR 7 (7.34 against 7.66 kg) thanks to Dura-Ace and RSL wheels. The SLR 9 AXS saves only 50 g more, but adds a power meter and a 48/35 that is easier on climbs.

LVR sizing advice Between two sizes: the smaller one if you lack flexibility, the larger one if you have a long torso. Handlebar, stem and cranks follow the size.

| Setting off with bags? | Yes, the mounts built into the frame take light bikepacking luggage. |
| Going tubeless? | Yes, the Kwaremont RSL tyres are Tubeless Ready; we do the conversion in the workshop. |
| A power meter? | No, the Dura-Ace chainset doesn't have one; the SLR 9 AXS has one as standard. |
| Di2 battery? | A single BT-DN300 battery powers both derailleurs and needs charging now and then. |

The LVR Cycles verdict The most refined Shimano Domane, ideal for stringing together very long rides with flawless equipment. We recommend it to the endurance rider who values the precision of Dura-Ace over a power meter.
