Garmin Edge 840 GPS Computer

The Garmin Edge 840 is a mid-size GPS bike computer. It is equipped with a touch screen, as well as a series of buttons on the right and left sides of the meter, allowing it to be controlled by touch and directly on the screen. The external design of the Edge 840 is identical to that of the Edge 540, equipped with the same number of buttons, which reduces production costs by offering a single cover for both devices. The dimension of this new series is a little larger than the previous one, going from 50 mm to 57.8 mm in width for a length of 85.1, i.e. 3 mm more. The thickness increases from 20 mm to 19.6 mm. The Garmin Edge 840 has five charging pins on the mounting element and a fast charging USB-C port. Battery life is 26-32 hours in normal use and 42-60 hours in economy mode.

The Garmin Edge 840 has the revised and corrected "Climb Pro" functionality, which makes it possible to offer a "Clim Pro" which predicts the percentage of a slope without following a route. It is also equipped with Stamina which allows you to consult information on a data panel in order to know the level of energy remaining while you ride. The GPS chip shares the same characteristics as the Edge 1040.

The Edge 840 version has a larger memory than the Edge 540 version, which is 32 GB compared to 16 GB. As far as functions are concerned, we find the attributes of the Edge 1040, which makes the Edge 840 one of the counters The most complete GPS on the market with a more attractive price than its big brother the 1040.
