The Mondraker Kaoz 2027 is the new dirt jump bike in Mondraker gravity range, alongside the Summum DH competition bike and the new Anark bike park bike. With its instantly recognizable aesthetics, it's aimed at riders looking for a precise, robust bike designed for creative riding.
Designed for carving in concrete bowls, pumping on hard-packed dirt rollers, or launching off perfectly shaped jumps, the Kaoz is a bike developed to express your style. Its single-speed design, Stealth Alloy EVO frame, and dirt jump-oriented components make it a simple, solid machine focused directly on riding.
The Mondraker Kaoz features a dirt jump-specific geometry, with adjustable chainstay length for better performance on dirt jumps or at speed. It's available in two sizes, M and L, with a 25mm difference in reach to maintain agile and fun handling regardless of rider height.
The Mondraker Kaoz uses a Kaoz 6061-T6 Stealth Alloy EVO frame with hydroformed tubes, 26-inch wheels, and Forward Geometry. True to Mondraker DNA, this dirt jump frame is engineered with precision and features specifically designed for the sport.
The frame is made of 6061-T6 aluminum with hydroformed tubes of varying thickness. This construction aims to offer a good balance between stiffness, strength, and precise handling.
The opening behind the head tube is not just for design. It acts as a stiffening reinforcement designed to limit unwanted flex, in order to maintain precise and responsive handling.
The Kaoz features a unique two-piece, split-forged bottom bracket. On a frame designed to withstand high compression, this area is essential for stiffness and strength.
The most significant stresses converge at the bottom bracket. The two-piece forged design allows for a continuity of shape towards the rear stays, eliminating abrupt welds and stress concentration points.
This construction helps to provide high lateral rigidity and better resistance to fatigue, an important element for withstanding the most demanding landings in dirt jumps.
The frame incorporates internal Silent Core cable routing with a clean cable entry at the head tube. This design reduces cable noise and allows for quieter landings.
The Kaoz is equipped with an extended rear brake hose, ready for barspins and tailwhips.
The frame is complemented by sliding dropouts with integrated tensioner and caliper bracket. This system allows for simultaneous adjustment of chain tension and brake caliper alignment.
The sliding tabs allow chain tension adjustment without the need to recalibrate the caliper. An oversized adjustment knob allows for precise adjustments.
With a focus on durability and simplicity, the Kaoz is designed around a single speed drivetrain.
The Kaoz adopts a specific dirt jump geometry, with an adjustment of the rear chainstay length to better adapt to dirt or speed.
The bike is available in two sizes: M (415 mm) and L (440 mm). A 25 mm difference in reach separates the two sizes to ensure an agile and fun ride for different body types.
The Mondraker Kaoz is equipped with a RockShox PIKE DJ 26-inch fork with 100 mm of travel, Charger cartridge, tapered steerer, 15x100 mm axle and 40 mm offset.
The headset is an Onoff custom ZS56/ZS56, compatible with a 1-1/8” steerer tube and a 1.2” head tube.
The Mondraker Kaoz is designed around a single-speed transmission. This configuration reduces mechanical stress, simplifies maintenance, and meets the specific needs of dirt jump riding.
The bike is equipped with a SRAM Truvativ Descendant 6K crankset with DUB axle, Direct Mount chainring, 165mm cranks and 49mm chainline.
The chainring is a SRAM Eagle 30-tooth steel chainring with X-Sync 2 technology, designed to ensure good chain retention.
The bottom bracket is a SRAM DUB BSA with sealed bearings, in standard 73 mm.
The drivetrain uses a SRAM PC-1 single speed chain with PowerLock 1s.
The Mondraker Kaoz is equipped with a SRAM DB8 rear brake with a 4-piston caliper. This setup is designed to provide braking power suitable for aggressive dirt jump riding.
The rear brake uses a 160mm SRAM Centerline monobloc disc with 6-hole IS standard.
Braking is provided by organic brake pads with steel backing.
The SRAM DB8 brake lever features reach adjustment with a tool and lever pivot bushings.
The extended rear brake hose allows the bike to be adapted for tricks like barspins and tailwhips.
