The Trek Precaliber 24 8-speed suspension is the last step before an adult bike: 24-inch wheels, a Shimano Tourney TX80 8-speed 13-34 drivetrain, a 45 mm suspension fork and two hand brakes. It weighs 12.06 kg according to Trek and suits children from 130 to 150 cm. The Aloha Green colour is a light, tropical green.

For 8 to 12 year olds who ride to school, go out on family rides and are not afraid of dirt tracks. It suits families looking for a versatile bike that works just as well on weekdays as at the weekend.
Alpha Silver for a bike ready for adventure. The Precaliber 24 suspension gets an Alpha Silver aluminium frame with rack and kickstand mounts, a replaceable derailleur hanger and a 135 mm quick-release rear axle. These details matter: a hanger bent in a fall can be swapped without touching the frame, and a rack means the after-school snack or school bag can come along too.

In other words: 12.06 kg, eight Shimano Tourney gears, a 45 mm fork and a saddle that keeps the parent handle. The big bike for 8 to 12 year olds, at home anywhere from the school run to dirt tracks.
The 13-34 cassette offers a very low gear for climbs: your child can pedal up hills without straining or having to put a foot down. The 32-tooth chainring and 152 mm cranks are suited to this size of rider. The replaceable derailleur hanger protects the frame if the derailleur takes a knock.
This version keeps the saddle with built-in handle, on a 300 mm steel seatpost. The rack and kickstand mounts make it a practical bike for everyday journeys, and the 45 mm fork smooths out the towpaths of the Canal du Midi or the garrigue tracks towards Lespignan.
| Model | Wheels | Child's height | Gears / brakes | Weight |
| Precaliber 20 7-speed | 20 in | 114 to 132 cm | 7 speeds, 2 V-brakes, 35 mm fork | 10.90 kg |
| Precaliber 24 suspension | 24 in | 130 to 150 cm | 8 speeds, 2 V-brakes, 45 mm fork | 12.06 kg |
| Wahoo 24 Path | 24 in | 130 to 150 cm | 8-speed microSHIFT, 2 V-brakes | 9.80 kg |
| Wahoo 24 Trail | 24 in | 130 to 150 cm | 9-speed microSHIFT, hydraulic discs | 10.50 kg |
Our take: at 12.06 kg, the Precaliber 24 suspension is heavier than a Wahoo 24 Path (9.80 kg) or Trail (10.50 kg), but it is the only one of the three with a suspension fork. Choose it for versatility and comfort.
