One helmet, two possibilities

The Targon MIPS can be used in half-shell or full-face mode. Without the chin bar, it offers more freedom for climbs and touring. With the chin bar, it provides extra protection for demanding trails, fast descents, and bike park sessions.

This helmet is for riders who don't want to choose between comfort on the climb and enhanced protection on the descent. Its modular design allows you to adapt the helmet to the terrain, the ride, and the level of commitment.

MIPS version

This version incorporates a MIPS layer, designed to reduce rotational forces in the event of a fall. It provides additional protection on technical trails and fast descents.

Design

Fullface modular construction

The ABUS Targon MIPS helmet can be used with or without a chin guard. In full-face mode, it offers greater protection for the head and face on challenging terrain. In half-shell mode, it provides more comfort and ventilation for climbing.

Removable chin strap

The chin guard can be quickly removed or installed thanks to the Speed Latch System™. It can be carried on the arm or handlebar during the climb, then put back in place before the descent.

Protection of the lower edges

The outer polycarbonate shell covers the lower edge of the helmet to protect this area from scratches, impacts and wear and tear.

In-Mold Process

The In-Mold process allows the internal EPS cushioning material to be injected directly into the outer polycarbonate shell. This construction creates a durable and robust assembly.

Injected carbon

The helmet uses a plastic material reinforced with carbon fibers, in order to provide high stability while maintaining a controlled weight.

Speed Latch System™

The Speed Latch System™ allows for quick attachment of the chin bar to the helmet. The mechanism is designed for simple, fast, and secure handling.

Zoom™ Rapid Fit System

The Zoom™ Rapid Fit system allows you to adjust the headset to the shape of your head with millimeter precision using a dial connected to a nylon cable with a steel reinforcement. Pressing the dial returns it to its initial position.

MIPS Padding

The MIPS layer is a thin, low-friction shell placed inside the padding. It helps to counteract rotational forces in the event of a fall, without hindering the ventilation system and with reduced weight.

Vario Pads

The Vario Pads cheek pads are adjustable to three different positions. In full-face mode, they ensure a secure, firm, and comfortable fit.

FIDLOCK magnetic closure

The FIDLOCK magnetic closure allows the chin loop to be opened and closed easily, even with gloves.

Removable visor

The visor protects against the sun and branches. Thanks to a specific technology, it can detach in the event of a fall to reduce strain on the neck.

Eyeglass holders

The helmet features a cutout at the front to position glasses securely and aerodynamically while riding. A space under the visor also allows you to hold them in place when they are not being worn.

Sewn straps

The straps are sewn to optimize aerodynamics and eliminate the need for a strap divider. They stay snug and don't flap around while riding.

Removable and washable padding

The comfort cushions can be removed, hand-washed or replaced if necessary, in order to maintain a good level of hygiene and comfort.

MIPS technology provides additional protection by reducing the rotational forces that can be exerted on the head during certain impacts.

The ABUS Targon MIPS helmet complies with ASTM F1952-22, an additional test specifically designed for downhill helmets.
