Developed with world-class Enduro World Series professionals, it lets you master every line at full speed. With its narrow seat surface and padded edges, you get perfect feedback from the trail. Ride with feeling - the SM Enduro Comp Men takes your skills on the trail to a whole new level.
Anatomically adapted
The design of the SM Enduro Comp Men provides both specific ergonomic support and pressure relief for the male anatomy. Additionally, the design features a special anti-friction material at the rear of the saddle. This material reduces friction and allows the rider to easily change position into a dynamic riding position.
Total comfort
The main function of the saddle is to guide the bike through demanding terrain. For maximum comfort, the entire outer perimeter of the saddle is padded.
Optimal pressure distribution
CNC-machined, closed-cell AirCell foam ensures enhanced support and optimal pressure distribution. The flexible side wings of the SM Comp Titanium Men reduce pressure on the inner thighs and allow optimal power transmission to the pedals.
Maximum freedom of movement
The flat V design and sloped rear of the SM Enduro Comp Men allow maximum freedom of movement. You can quickly and easily change your seating position at any time through demanding terrain.
The Ergon development team has immersed itself in intensive research on the subject of men's health. In cycling, the main complaints come from the saddle. For men, an ill-fitting saddle can put too much pressure on the very sensitive perineal area, which can lead to temporary long-term health problems and discomfort. Through intensive development and analysis of MRI and CT scans, numerous prototypes and ride tests, the SM Enduro Comp Men was created to relieve perineal pressures while supporting the rider's performance needs.
Compared to women, the male pelvis tends to be less flexible. This means that men sit more upright in the saddle and distribute their weight more across their seat bones. Therefore, the transition zone between the rear of the saddle and the nose of the saddle can be kept narrow (Y-shape). This gives more legroom for pedaling.
Unlike the female anatomy, the male sit bones are narrower and where the two sides of the pelvis meet at the front is much higher. This results in a greater pressure distribution over the male sit bones compared to a wider area of the sit bones and pubic bones in women. The Ergon brand took this significant difference between male and female anatomy into account when developing the saddle.
The shape of the SM-Enduro series accommodates frequent and dynamic changes in saddle position and saddle height. The result is a saddle that effectively relieves and reduces pressure in many different riding positions encountered when riding demanding terrain.
The shape and size of the saddle should match the distance between the rider's seat bones. As the pelvic bones taper forward in a V shape, the saddle must be able to provide a sufficiently large contact surface for the bone structures in different sitting positions. Saddle widths are chosen so that the usable seat surface corresponds to the distance between the seat bones. The further forward the rider sits, the more the seat bones contact the saddle forward.
