Maxxis Assegai 27.5x2.50WT : a version dedicated to downhill

A downhill mountain bike tire with a DH casing.

The Maxxis Assegai 27.5x2.50WT 3C MaxxGrip Downhill Tubeless Ready mountain bike tire represents the most robust configuration of the 27.5-inch Assegai. It is designed for downhill riding, bike park trails, and terrain requiring maximum grip combined with high sidewall stiffness.

The Downhill casing uses two layers of 60 TPI casing from bead to bead. This construction increases protection and lateral support during impacts, compressions, and high-speed turns.

The 3C MaxxGrip compound provides Maxxis ' softest rubber and a slow rebound to maximize traction.

Downhill Carcass

Two layers of 60 TPI cover the entire casing. This design is tailored to the specific demands of downhill racing, providing additional protection and increased sidewall rigidity.

3C MaxxGrip

The compound prioritizes grip on roots, stones, loose soils, and inclined surfaces. Its performance and wear life are secondary to the desired level of traction.

Wide Trail Profile

The 2.50WT section is optimized for a 35mm internal width rim and can work on rims from 30 to 35mm depending on riding preferences.
