Maxxis Assegai 29x2.50WT: a version dedicated to downhill

A 29-inch mountain bike tire with a downhill casing

The Maxxis Assegai 29x2.50WT 3C MaxxGrip Downhill Tubeless Ready mountain bike tire is the most reinforced 29-inch version of the Assegai. Its 60 TPI dual-ply downhill casing provides the sidewall stiffness and protection needed for downhill racing and bike park trails.

The 3C MaxxGrip compound uses Maxxis ' softest rubber compounds to maximize traction, cornering control, and braking grip. The Wide Trail profile is optimized for modern wide rims.

This model has a claimed weight of 1444 g and accepts Tubeless Ready mounting.

Downhill Carcass

Two layers of 60 TPI extend from one bead to the other. This construction increases impact resistance and maintains the sidewalls during high-speed loading.

3C MaxxGrip

The slow rebound compound prioritizes contact with the ground and control on uneven surfaces.

Wide Trail Profile

The 2.50WT width is optimized for a 35mm rim, with a stated usage range of 30 to 35mm depending on preference.
