As an official partner of the 111th Tour de France, Continental launches a limited edition Grand Prix 5000 S TR, affirming its commitment to tires focused on racing performance. The classic route with its legendary stages represents the pinnacle of road cycling. To honor this great race, Continental has created the Grand Prix 5000 S TR TdF, a special model of the most advanced road tire to date.

Exclusivity and success. The cycling product expert benefits from the advantages of this racing tire, discreetly marked with the TdF logo on the sidewall. The Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR is lighter, faster and, thanks to its reinforced sidewall, more comfortable and reliable than its predecessor, the Grand Prix 5000 TL. Its new bead ensures easy compatibility with hookless rims.

The Continental GP 5000 S TR TDF tire incorporates modern Continental technologies to provide maximum performance. The interaction between the BlackChili rubber compound, specially adapted for racing, and the new tire construction improves rolling resistance, cornering grip and durability. Two separate 110 tpi carcass layers, one of which extends from the bead to the sidewall, increase puncture protection without adding unnecessary weight.

The Grand Prix 5000 S TR Tour De France thus becomes the new benchmark for tubeless technology in the road tire range of the rubber specialists from Korbach in Hesse, Germany. Thanks to its performance, it enjoys the trust of professionals. Available in a limited Tour de France edition, it is ready to be used by all cycling enthusiasts.

Technologies:

TR (Tubeless Ready): The tubeless ready system of the Grand Prix 5000 S TR is designed for the demands of road cycling, easy to assemble and reliable. A reworked bead ensures reliable sealing and a stable hold on rims with or without hooks. For the first installation, Continental recommends using at least 30 ml of Conti RevoSealant per tire. Spin the wheel to distribute the liquid and inflate to maximum pressure. Check the pressure before each ride and at regular intervals thereafter.

BlackChili Compound: This compound provides an optimal balance of grip and low rolling resistance, crucial for racing performance. The Grand Prix 5000 S TR benefits from an improved composition of the famous BlackChili, offering a stiff and stable tire with excellent grip.

Vectran™ Breaker anti-puncture insert: Inspired by spider silk, this liquid crystal polymer (LCP) insert provides exceptional resistance to tears and punctures without weighing down the tire. The thin, dense protective layer is extremely durable yet lightweight.

Lazer Grip: For better grip in fast corners, the Grand Prix 5000 S TR is equipped with the Laser Grip profile on the shoulder. This microscopic laser-cut structure ensures precise and natural driving.

Active Comfort Technology: Integrated into the three-layer structure of the carcass, this technology absorbs vibrations and shocks, thus increasing driving comfort.
