The latest generation of DT Swiss ARC 1100 50mm DICUT wheels, available in disc brake version with three rim heights (80mm, 62mm, 50mm and 38mm), was designed in collaboration with aerodynamic expert SWISS SIDE . Result: the new AERO+ rim profile reduces drag and steering torque to a minimum for perfect aerodynamics and control even in strong side winds. Easier to master, it allows you to benefit from all the advantages of its optimal sail effect for efficient propulsion. Mounted with the new DT Swiss Aero spokes, these wheels feature the very sleek 180 DICUT hub combined with ultra-smooth SINC Ceramic bearings.
DT Swiss ARC 1100 DICUT 50mm DB : The top DT Swiss Aero wheels with disc braking to break lap times with maximum safety.
Front: 674 grams
Rear: 798 grams
Pair: 1472 grams
The perfect symbiosis between drag, handling and efficiency. To achieve this, the Swiss Side engineering team focused on four aerodynamic improvements: form drag, rotational drag, steering torque and rolling resistance.
Tubeless Ready simply allows you to benefit from exceptional performance similar to tubulars with the addition of preventative to avoid punctures. The choice is yours to mount your new DT Swiss wheels with or without a tube.
The art of designing a durable hub with minimal clearance lies in properly preloading the bearings. Most bicycle hubs are equipped with radial bearings, which are sensitive to lateral forces. Hubs with a clearance adjustment system generally have a fine thread. They allow precise clearance adjustment, but can also generate high axial forces. Quickly subjected to excessive preload, the bearings are then damaged. Drawing on its many years of experience in optimal bearing preloading and its knowledge of manufacturing tolerances, DT Swiss is able to design durable, backlash-free hubs without adjustment of bearing clearance. This hub design also makes it lighter thanks to the absence of threads, which results in a thinner wall. Last advantage, and not least: ease of maintenance and rapid adaptation to different freewheel bodies and axle systems.
This bearing technology appears in all DT Swiss hubs, front and rear.
DT Swiss has not only improved reliability but also weight on the Ratchet EXP. The fusion of the toothed crown and the threaded ring makes it possible to reduce the number of components and therefore the weight of the system, which represents a major advantage for ultra light carbon wheels.
