The Zipp 858 NSW ZR1 SL - WH-858-NTLD-D1 wheel is a high-end model designed for cyclists seeking speed and efficiency, particularly in triathlon, time trial or road racing. Thanks to Total System Efficiency (TSE) technology, Zipp has developed a wheel that simultaneously combats the four main obstacles to performance: wind resistance, gravity, rolling resistance and vibration losses. This model features a wavy rim profile of 82 to 85 mm, combined with an internal width of 23 mm, which allows the use of wider tires at reduced pressure for improved rolling efficiency.

Integrated technologies

• TSE (Total System Efficiency) : Developed in Zipp 's Nest Advanced Development lab, this technology aims to improve overall speed by reducing wind resistance, rolling losses, mass and vibration.
• Sawtooth : This patented variable-depth design (82 to 85 mm) is inspired by biomimicry. It allows for a simultaneous reduction of aerodynamic drag and lateral force, for increased stability even at a high wind angle of incidence.
• Hyperfoil : Name given to the fin-like structures located on the Sawtooth profile. They increase the vortex separation frequency for better stability of the bike in the wind.
• HexFin ABLC : Hexagonal cavities located on the Hyperfoil. They help maintain airflow along the rim, reduce drag, and improve stability in crosswinds. Their arrangement in groups of varying sizes optimizes aerodynamic efficiency.
• ImPress : Technology for printing graphics directly onto the rim, allowing the function of the aerodynamic micro-cavities not to be disrupted.
