OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. The Domane+ SLR 9 sits at the top of the Domane+ SLR range. Its OCLV Series 800 frame, whose plies are compacted under pressure until all porosity is removed, combines stiffness with a small amount of material. Trek carries the logic through to the wheels: the Aeolus RSL 37 are also made of OCLV carbon. The frame remains covered by the brand's lifetime warranty.

In short: this SLR 9 brings together the 60 Nm TQ HPR60 motor, Dura-Ace Di2, Aeolus RSL 37 wheels and 320 tpi Kwaremont RSL tyres. At 11.84 kg in size 56, it is the lightest Domane+ SLR with the HPR60 motor.

The combination of a 60 Nm motor and an 11.84 kg bike changes the game on the climbs: less mass to haul up, more torque to haul it. On the ramps of the Minervois or the Montagne Noire, you stay in control of the pace, with the assist filling in where your legs start to fade.

The OCLV carbon Aeolus RSL 37 wheels and the supple 320 tpi Kwaremont RSL tyres make a very fast-rolling package, which we set up tubeless with sealant. The TQ display communicates via Bluetooth and ANT+ with your devices, and the help stops at 25 km/h to let you fly on the descents.

Our take: the SLR 9 HPR60 (11.84 kg in 56) weighs 810 g less than the SLR 7 HPR60 (12.65 kg) for the same torque. Compared with the SLR 9 HPR50 (11.75 kg), it adds only 90 g for 10 Nm more; the Domane+ SL 9 AXS (11.00 kg in ML) focuses on lightness and 40 Nm.
