For the commuter who rides a few kilometres between home and work every day, for example from the outskirts of Béziers into the centre, and wants to arrive without breaking a sweat. As this colour is offered in XL, it is aimed at tall riders from 186 to 197 cm.
The motor in the wheel: the lightweight solution. On the FX+ 2, the assistance comes from a Hyena motor housed in the rear hub, controlled by a torque sensor at the bottom bracket: the harder you push, the more it helps. The 250 Wh battery disappears into the down tube of the Alpha Gold frame, so the bike keeps the look of a classic hybrid and a weight under 18 kg.
| Hyena rear hub (FX+ 2, Dual Sport+ 2) | TQ HPR50 at the bottom bracket (FX+ 7) | Bosch CX at the bottom bracket (Allant+) | |
| Claimed torque | 40 Nm | 50 Nm | The highest of these three systems |
| Battery | 250 Wh in the down tube | TQ 360 Wh | 545 or 800 Wh depending on the version |
| Reference bike | FX+ 2 LT, 17.75 kg (M) | FX+ 7, 19.30 kg (L) | Allant+ 6, 23.30 kg (L) |
| What it means | Light, simple, ideal in town | Discreet and natural, more torque | For steep climbs and heavy loads |
In other words: the FX+ 2 focuses on lightness (17.69 kg in M) rather than power. Its 40 Nm motor supports steady pedalling in town and on the flat; for repeated steep gradients, a mid-drive motor such as the TQ on the FX+ 7 gives you more.
With a motor in the rear wheel, the chainset stays that of a conventional bike: a single 42-tooth steel chainring and a 9-speed Shimano 11-36 cassette, operated by an Altus derailleur. The torque sensor adjusts the assistance to your effort, which avoids any jerk when pulling away from a red light.
The 40 mm Bontrager H2 Comp tyres with reflective sidewalls absorb cobbles and kerbs, and can be seen from the side at night. The MIK-compatible rear rack takes 25 kg: enough to bring home your shopping from the Halles market or carry a laptop bag in a side pannier.
| Model | Motor | Battery | Drivetrain | Weight |
| FX+ 2 | Hyena rear hub 40 Nm | 250 Wh | Shimano Altus 9-speed 11-36 | 17.69 kg (M) |
| FX+ 2 LT | Hyena rear hub 40 Nm | 250 Wh | Shimano Acera 8-speed 11-40 | 17.75 kg (M) |
| FX+ 2 LT Midstep | Hyena rear hub 40 Nm | 250 Wh | Shimano Acera 8-speed 11-40 | 17.65 kg (M) |
| FX+ 7 | TQ HPR50 50 Nm | 360 Wh | Shimano CUES 10-speed 11-48 | 19.30 kg (L) |
Our take: the FX+ 2 (17.69 kg in M) and the FX+ 2 LT (17.75 kg) are on a par for weight; the FX+ 2 keeps a 9-speed 11-36 cassette whereas the LT moves to 8 speeds with 11-40, lower geared for climbing. The FX+ 7 steps up to 50 Nm with a TQ mid-drive motor, for 19.30 kg in L.
