Trek FX+ 2 LT Satin Trek Black: the electric hybrid bike for every build

This is the only colour of this Trek FX+ 2 LT offered in three sizes, S, M and XL: cranks, handlebar, stem and seatpost are matched to the rider's build. It keeps the 40 Nm Hyena motor in the rear hub, the 250 Wh battery in the frame and full commuting equipment, for 17.75 kg in size M according to Trek. Satin Trek Black is an understated satin black.

Who is it for?

For a couple or family who want two identical bikes despite different heights, or for a smaller rider looking for a light e-bike, from 155 cm in S up to 197 cm in XL. It will suit anyone who prefers a go-anywhere black.

A light electric hybrid bike, equipped for town. The FX+ 2 LT entrusts the assistance to a 40 Nm Hyena motor built into the rear hub, triggered by a torque sensor at the bottom bracket, and stows its 250 Wh battery in the down tube. The Alpha Gold frame comes fitted with SKS mudguards, a 25 kg MIK rear rack and a kickstand, and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes ensure you stop in all weathers.

In other words: the FX+ 2 LT is the lightest fully equipped Trek e-bike in this selection, at 17.75 kg in M with its accessories. It suits urban and suburban journeys; for long, steep climbs, the TQ motor on the FX+ 7 offers more torque.

In S and M, Trek fits 170 mm cranks, a 600 mm handlebar and a 90 mm stem; the XL moves to 175 mm, 660 mm and 100 mm. These details matter: a narrower handlebar for a smaller rider avoids opening up the shoulders, and shorter cranks make for smoother pedalling.

For everyday journeys, the 8-speed Shimano 11-40 cassette offers a low gear for bridges and ramps, and the hub motor supports every restart. Above 25 km/h, the assistance cuts out, in line with European e-bike regulations.

Our take: in satin black and available from S to XL, this FX+ 2 LT is the widest choice in the series. The FX+ 2 LT Midstep (17.65 kg) makes stepping over easier; the more expensive FX+ 7 brings a 50 Nm TQ motor and a carbon fork.

LVR sizing advice

This colour comes in S (155 to 165 cm), M (165 to 175 cm) and XL (186 to 197 cm) according to Trek; size L is not offered. Between two sizes, the smaller one makes the bike more manoeuvrable in town: we confirm it with you in store.
