The Trek Inbound+ 2 R10 in Dark Star, a deep, plain black, is the longest-range straight-frame Inbound+. A 600 Wh PowerTube battery, ten Shimano CUES gears and a Bosch rear-wheel motor make it a good starting point for gentle touring. It weighs 22.60 kg in size L according to Trek and comes as standard with a MIK-compatible rack, mudguards and a kickstand.

CUES Linkglide and 600 Wh, the long-distance duo. The Inbound+ 2 R10 is the top of the family. Its PowerTube battery goes up to 600 Wh and its Shimano CUES drivetrain lines up ten gears using Linkglide technology: thicker teeth, a reinforced LG500 chain and smooth shifting even under load. The straight Alpha Smooth aluminium frame is the same as on the other versions.

In short: 240 Wh and two more gears than the Inbound+ 2 R8, for an extra 1.10 kg (22.60 kg in L). It's the Inbound+ to choose if your journeys are long or hilly, or if you want to charge less often.
On tour, two things matter: energy and reliability. The 600 Wh gives you a margin between charges, provided you take the charger and identify charging points along the route. The Linkglide parts of the CUES drivetrain take the miles and the weight of luggage without wearing prematurely.
Loaded with panniers, the bike needs reliable braking: the Shimano hydraulic brakes on 180 mm rotors deliver. The 50 mm Girona Comp tyres, protected against punctures, roll well on the towpath. The assistance fades out at 25 km/h, a comfortable touring pace for enjoying the scenery.

Our take: for touring, the R10 is the only Inbound+ version with 600 Wh, for 22.60 kg in L. The R8, 1.10 kg lighter, suits day rides; the belt-drive B 540 (21.60 kg) is best kept to flat routes.

LVR sizing advice The straight frame covers 155 to 203 cm in three sizes. For long rides, the L and XL, with their 110 mm stem, distribute weight better between saddle and bar; the M remains the most nimble in town with its 70 mm stem.
