The Trek Domane SLR 9 AXS Gen 5 isn't just for sunny days: mudguard mounts, 35 mm tyres and an OCLV Series 900 frame make it a 7.29 kg endurance bike in size ML that you can use twelve months a year. Its wireless SRAM RED AXS E1 2x12 drivetrain, with power meter, has no cable housings to let in water. The Matte Deep Smoke colourway dresses it in a deep, matt anthracite grey, very understated.

For the dedicated cyclist who rides through winter, from the Montagne Noire to the wet roads of the Haut-Languedoc, and wants to keep the same high-end bike in every season. It will appeal to those who also think about maintenance: fewer cables, fewer adjustments and a drivetrain that stays precise.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. Behind the four letters OCLV lies a Trek process born in 1992: the carbon sheets are compacted with heat and pressure so that no micro-voids remain. Level 900, the brand's most advanced, uses rigid 3D moulding that reduces fibre overlaps. In practice, the frame saves about 220 g over that of a Domane SL and becomes up to 20 % stronger than the previous OCLV 800, a plus for a bike that goes out in all weathers. The RSL wheels and RED groupset account for the rest of the weight saving.
| OCLV 900 (Domane SLR) | OCLV 500 (Domane SL) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced carbon | Entry-level carbon of the road range |
| Construction | Rigid 3D moulding, reduced fibre overlaps | More generous layup with more material |
| Gen 5 Domane frame | approx. 835 g (unpainted, size ML) | approx. 1,055 g |
| What it means | Frame about 220 g lighter and up to 20 % stronger than OCLV 800 | Heavier frame, same Trek lifetime warranty |
With mudguards, maximum tyre width drops to 35 mm, exactly the stock tyres: nothing to change for winter. We recommend rinsing the drivetrain after rides in the rain and checking pad wear, which is faster on greasy roads.
The power meter housed in the RED chainset is this version's main asset, with no parts to add. The 48/35 and 10-36 cassette also offer more flexibility on climbs than the 50/34 and 11-34 of the Shimano SLR 9. Before handover, we pair the shifters and power meter with your computer.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Wheels | Weight (ML) |
| Domane SLR 7 | OCLV 900 | Shimano Ultegra Di2 2x12 | Aeolus Pro 51 | 7.66 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 | OCLV 900 | Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 2x12 | Aeolus RSL 51 | 7.34 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS 2x12 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 51 | 7.29 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS 1x | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x13 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 37 | 6.63 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS No. 76 | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS 2x12 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 37 | 7.19 kg |
Our take: the SLR 9 AXS weighs 50 g less than the Shimano SLR 9 (7.29 against 7.34 kg) and adds power measurement. To save another 660 g, you have to accept the 1x13 and 28 mm tyres of the SLR 9 AXS 1x.

LVR sizing advice Between two sizes, take the smaller one for agility, the larger one if you mainly ride for long hours. Handlebar, stem and cranks follow the size.

| Mudguards and stock tyres? | Compatible: with mudguards, the limit is 35 mm, the stock size. |
| Wireless in the rain? | No cables to get clogged; just rinse the chain after the ride. |
| Caring for the matt finish? | Soapy water and a soft cloth, without polishing products. |
| For racing? | Possible in sportives; for a low position, look at the Madone. |
