For the trail rider who spends more time looking for lines on the descents than watching their average speed on the climbs, and wants a bike that can take rough trails without getting flustered. It will suit the experienced mountain biker who knows how to make the most of adjustable suspension.
Alpha aluminium, Trek's expertise. For the Gen 7 Fuel, Trek did not keep the new features for carbon alone: its most refined alloy, Alpha NEXT Platinum, gets the same modular platform. The rocker and lower shock mount can be swapped to change the geometry and end-stroke behaviour, and the ABP pivot on the rear axle helps the suspension stay active when you brake. Storage is hidden in the down tube.

Put simply: this Fuel EX 9 Eagle 90 puts the money into suspension, brakes and tyres rather than the frame. With equivalent suspension, the carbon of a Fuel EX 9.8 saves weight, not descending performance.
The Lyrik Ultimate is usually fitted to enduro bikes: on a 150 mm trail bike, it brings stiffness and mid-stroke support that reassure through sequences of steps. The DebonAir+ spring with ButterCups filters out the small vibrations that tire your hands on the long descents of the Montagne Noire.
At the rear, the Super Deluxe Ultimate RC2T has a lockout lever for fire-road climbs plus compression and rebound adjustment. We do a first set-up ride with you around the shop, then fine-tune the rebound based on your feedback.

LVR sizing advice Between two sizes, we recommend the smaller one if you like playing with the terrain, the larger one if you want stability at high speed. The Line Dropper post goes from 150 mm in S to 200 mm in L and XL; the S rolls on a 27.5-inch rear wheel.
