For the racer who trains to a structured plan, measures sessions in watts and wants the same data on their XC race bike. It is also aimed at the rider who rides on the road in winter with a power meter and no longer wants a break in their data come spring.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. Trek developed OCLV in the early 1990s: compaction under pressure and temperature that drives out the air trapped between the fibre plies. For mountain biking, the brand created OCLV Mountain, whose priority is impact resistance rather than weight saving alone. The 9.8 X0 Flight Attendant benefits from the SLR variant, the finest, with the same lifetime warranty as every Trek frame.
| OCLV Mountain SLR | OCLV Mountain SL | Alpha Platinum alloy (Procaliber 6 / 8) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced mountain bike carbon | Standard MTB carbon, same geometry | Trek premium aluminium |
| Construction | OCLV process, layup refined to the maximum | OCLV process, slightly more material | Hydroforming, smoothed welds |
| Reference bike | Supercaliber SLR 9.8 and 9.9 | Supercaliber SL 9.6 and 9.7 | Procaliber 6 and 8 (hardtails) |
| What it means | Lighter frame, reserved for high-end builds | Same IsoStrut, slightly heavier frame | Heavier, no rear suspension |
Put simply: this 9.8 brings Flight Attendant suspension and a power meter for 100 g less than the standard 9.8 X0 AXS. It does not change the wheels or brakes of the rest of the 9.8 range: for the lightest version, you need to move up to the 9.9 XX Flight Attendant.
The power meter built into the X0 chainset sends your watts to your computer: on the climbs of the Montagne Noire, you can manage a threshold effort without relying on feel, then analyse your consistency afterwards. For a racer, it is a far more reliable progression tool than heart rate alone.
Flight Attendant also uses your pedalling to decide when to firm up the suspension: when you push on the pedals, the fork and shock stiffen; when you freewheel through a rough section, they open up. The wireless X0 AXS drivetrain completes this coherent electronic package, controlled from a single app.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Suspension | Weight (M) |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 AXS | OCLV Mountain SLR | Wireless SRAM X0 AXS | SID Select+ / SIDLuxe | 11.38 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM X0 AXS + power meter | Flight Attendant | 11.28 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XTR Di2 | OCLV Mountain SLR | Shimano XTR Di2 | SID SL Ultimate / SIDLuxe | 10.58 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XX Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM XX SL AXS | Flight Attendant | 10.28 kg |
Our take: at 11.28 kg in M, this 9.8 Flight Attendant weighs 100 g less than the 9.8 X0 AXS while adding a power meter and controlled suspension. The 9.9 XX Flight Attendant drops to 10.28 kg with Kovee RSL wheels.

LVR sizing advice Between two sizes, choose the shorter one for a playful bike in technical sections, the longer one for more stability at high speed. The dropper post goes from 100 mm in S to 170 mm in XL, and the cranks to 175 mm in L and XL.

The LVR Cycles verdict The Supercaliber for the methodical racer, who measures their efforts and lets the suspension adapt on its own. Its smoky navy blue suits it perfectly.
