For the regional racer or sporty mountain biker who wants Trek's lightest frame and a wireless drivetrain, without electronic suspension. It will particularly appeal to riders who tackle steep terrain and appreciate easy gearing.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. Behind the OCLV name lies a method: heating and compressing the carbon so that no bubbles remain between the layers, which allows thinner walls. For its mountain bikes, Trek adapts this method as OCLV Mountain, a carbon that can take the impacts of the terrain. The 9.8 X0 AXS gets the SLR level, the lightest in the range, with Trek's lifetime warranty on the frame.
| OCLV Mountain SLR | OCLV Mountain SL | Alpha Platinum alloy (Procaliber 6 / 8) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced mountain bike carbon | Standard MTB carbon, same geometry | Trek premium aluminium |
| Construction | OCLV process, layup refined to the maximum | OCLV process, slightly more material | Hydroforming, smoothed welds |
| Reference bike | Supercaliber SLR 9.8 and 9.9 | Supercaliber SL 9.6 and 9.7 | Procaliber 6 and 8 (hardtails) |
| What it means | Lighter frame, reserved for high-end builds | Same IsoStrut, slightly heavier frame | Heavier, no rear suspension |
In short: this is the entry point to the SLR frame in a SRAM wireless version. Compared with the 9.8 XT Di2, it saves 200 g; compared with the Flight Attendant, it gives up automated suspension and the power meter in favour of manual lockout at the bar.
The 30-tooth chainring, smaller than the 34 on the other SLRs, paired with the 52-tooth sprocket gives very low gearing: ideal for the ramps of the Montagne Noire, where gradients often exceed those of lowland race courses. You keep an efficient cadence where a 34 would force you to grind.
The X0 AXS T-Type drivetrain mounts directly on the rear axle via the UDH interface, with no fragile derailleur hanger: it copes better with knocks against rocks. The dual remote lockout on the bar firms up fork and shock in a single movement for long climbs on tracks.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Suspension | Weight (M) |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 XT Di2 | OCLV Mountain SLR | Shimano XT Di2 | SID SL Ultimate / SIDLuxe | 11.58 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 AXS | OCLV Mountain SLR | Wireless SRAM X0 AXS | SID Select+ / SIDLuxe | 11.38 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM X0 AXS + power meter | Flight Attendant | 11.28 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XTR Di2 | OCLV Mountain SLR | Shimano XTR Di2 | SID SL Ultimate / SIDLuxe | 10.58 kg |
Our take: at 11.38 kg in M, this 9.8 X0 AXS is 200 g lighter than the 9.8 XT Di2. The 9.8 X0 Flight Attendant adds automated suspension and a power meter while weighing 100 g less.

LVR sizing advice If you are between two sizes, the smaller one makes changes of direction in the woods easier, the larger one gives more composure in rock gardens. The RSL bar-stem stretches its stem from 70 to 90 mm depending on size.

| Why a 30-tooth chainring? | For lower gearing on climbs; a 32 or 34 can be fitted if you ride on the flat. |
| Lockout on the bar? | Yes, one control firms up the fork and shock simultaneously. |
| Charging the AXS? | The derailleur battery is recharged with the supplied charger every few rides. |
| Is the navy blue dark? | Yes, a deep smoky blue that looks almost black in the shade. |
|
The LVR Cycles verdict The most direct Supercaliber SLR, with SRAM wireless and low gearing for steep terrain. Its smoky navy blue gives it the understated look of a race bike.
