The Trek Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XX Flight Attendant Gen 2 is Trek's most accomplished cross-country mountain bike: an OCLV Mountain SLR carbon frame, a 110 mm fork, an 80 mm IsoStrut shock housed in the top tube and a wireless SRAM XX SL drivetrain. It weighs 10.28 kg in size M, the lightest in the family. The Navy Smoke colour dresses it in a deep, understated smoky navy blue that reveals the carbon weave in full light.

For the committed racer in regional cups or championships who strings together XCO rounds and wants a bike that wastes no watts. It is aimed at the rider who already knows their suspension settings and expects the bike to take care of the rest during the effort.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. Since 1992, Trek has heat-pressed its fibre sheets to eliminate the air pockets that weaken a frame. The OCLV Mountain version is calibrated for off-road use: it has to withstand rock strikes and crashes, not just be stiff. On this flagship, it is the SLR version, the lightest in Trek's mountain bike catalogue, that forms the frame; it remains covered by Trek's lifetime warranty.
| OCLV Mountain SLR | OCLV Mountain SL | Alpha Platinum alloy (Procaliber 6 / 8) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced mountain bike carbon | Standard MTB carbon, same geometry | Trek premium aluminium |
| Construction | OCLV process, layup refined to the maximum | OCLV process, slightly more material | Hydroforming, smoothed welds |
| Reference bike | Supercaliber SLR 9.8 and 9.9 | Supercaliber SL 9.6 and 9.7 | Procaliber 6 and 8 (hardtails) |
| What it means | Lighter frame, reserved for high-end builds | Same IsoStrut, slightly heavier frame | Heavier, no rear suspension |
In short: the 9.9 XX Flight Attendant does not change frame compared with the other SLRs; it brings together the very best Trek does around it: XX SL drivetrain, Motive Ultimate brakes, carbon wheels and electronic suspension. The result is the lightest Supercaliber in the range, 300 g under the 9.9 XTR Di2.
Flight Attendant changes the way you race: sensors analyse the terrain and your pedalling, then the fork and shock switch by themselves from open to firmer settings. At the start of a race, there is no need to hunt for the lockout lever as you accelerate: both hands stay on the bar and your eyes on the line.
IsoStrut does away with the conventional main pivot: the stays flex to provide the 80 mm of rear travel, eliminating bearings and linkages to maintain. On the dry courses around Béziers, where loops string together accelerations and roots, this measured travel keeps the bike lively while sparing your lower back.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Suspension | Weight (M) |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 AXS | OCLV Mountain SLR | Wireless SRAM X0 AXS | SID Select+ / SIDLuxe | 11.38 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.8 X0 Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM X0 AXS + power meter | Flight Attendant | 11.28 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XTR Di2 | OCLV Mountain SLR | Shimano XTR Di2 | SID SL Ultimate / SIDLuxe | 10.58 kg |
| Supercaliber SLR 9.9 XX Flight Attendant | OCLV Mountain SLR | SRAM XX SL AXS | Flight Attendant | 10.28 kg |
Our take: 10.28 kg in M is 300 g less than the 9.9 XTR Di2 and more than a kilo under the 9.8 X0 AXS. Flight Attendant and the Kovee RSL carbon wheels make all the difference; if electronic suspension does not appeal to you, the 9.9 XTR Di2 keeps the same frame.

LVR sizing advice If you are between two sizes, the smaller one makes the bike more agile in switchbacks and accelerations, the larger one more stable on long, fast descents. Cranks, stem length and dropper post travel follow the size.

| What does Flight Attendant do? | It continuously adjusts the firmness of the fork and shock according to the terrain and your pedalling. |
| Does the system need charging? | Yes, the AXS batteries for the suspension and drivetrain are recharged every few rides. |
| Is the navy blue matt? | It is a smoky blue that lets the carbon show through; a gentle silicone-free cleaner is all it needs. |
| Suitable for a first race? | Yes, but its level of spec really comes into its own with a rider who already races regularly. |
|
The LVR Cycles verdict The lightest and smartest Supercaliber in the range, built to gain time at every acceleration. Its smoky navy blue gives it the understated elegance of a factory bike.
