LVR Cycles : Eco-contribution

The eco-participation shown in your basket corresponds to the pass-through of part of the environmental contributions charged upstream to LVR Cycles by its suppliers on the spare parts, components, accessories and equipment sold.

These contributions fall within the framework of the various Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes. They contribute in particular to the financing of the collection, reuse, repair, recycling and treatment of products when they reach the end of their life.

At LVR Cycles , these costs are borne throughout the year when purchasing goods from our various suppliers. To ensure these costs are clearly and understandably passed on to the end consumer, an eco-contribution is automatically added to certain orders based on the value of the products in the basket.

This line appears separately in your shopping cart under the heading "Eco-participation" . It does not correspond to a physical product, an option, or delivery charges.

Why is an eco-contribution added to your order?

When purchasing spare parts, components, accessories or equipment, LVR Cycles supports eco-contributions integrated or added to its suppliers' invoices.

These contributions are linked to the environmental obligations applicable to products placed on the market. They contribute to the financing of their collection, reuse, repair, recycling and treatment when they reach the end of their life.

The eco-contribution is passed on to the end customer who buys and uses the products concerned. It allows LVR Cycles to pass on a portion of the environmental contributions already incurred in the supply chain.

It does not constitute an additional profit margin intended to artificially inflate the price of the items. It represents an environmental contribution linked to the products included in the order.

How is the amount calculated?

Given the large number of spare parts, components, accessories and equipment that may be present in a single order, it is not always possible to add the exact eco-contribution for each item separately.

LVR Cycles therefore applies a simplified method of passing on the cost. A single eco-contribution is automatically added to the order according to the bracket corresponding to the value of the products in the basket.

• Baskets from €0.01 to €50.00: eco-contribution of €0.90 (including VAT)
• Baskets from €50.01 to €150.00: eco-contribution of €1.90 (including VAT)
• Baskets from €150.01 to €300.00: eco-contribution of €2.90 (including VAT)
• Baskets priced between €300.01 and €450.00 include an eco-contribution of €3.90 (VAT included).
• Baskets priced between €450.01 and €600.00 include an eco-contribution of €4.90 (VAT included).
• Baskets priced between €600.01 and €750.00 include an eco-contribution of €5.90 (VAT included).
• Baskets priced between €750.01 and €900.00 include an eco-contribution of €6.90 (VAT included).
• Baskets over €900.00: eco-contribution of €7.90 (including VAT)

These brackets correspond to the calculation method implemented by LVR Cycles in order to distribute globally the eco-contributions charged by its various suppliers.

These prices do not necessarily correspond to the unit price applied individually to each product. The amounts charged may vary depending on the nature, category, weight, composition, or characteristics of the product in question.

Which products might be affected?

The eco-contribution may apply to orders including:

• spare parts for bicycles;
• transmission components;
• derailleurs, chains, cassettes, cranksets and chainrings;
• braking systems, discs, pads and levers;
• wheels, rims, hubs, spokes and freewheel body;
• tires, inner tubes and related products;
• forks and suspension components;
• handlebars, stems, saddles and seatposts;
• pedals and mounting accessories;
• accessories for bicycles;
• lighting and signaling devices;
• anti-theft devices;
• pumps, tools and workshop equipment;
• cleaning products concerned;
• luggage racks, panniers and luggage components;
• helmets and protective equipment;
• the clothing and equipment of the cyclist concerned;
• other sports and leisure articles falling under an applicable environmental sector.

This list is indicative and not exhaustive. The application of the eco-contribution depends on the contents of the order and the product categories concerned.

What are environmental contributions used for?

Environmental contributions help to fund, among other things:

• collection and transport of end-of-life products;
• sorting and processing of waste;
• reuse and repurposing where possible;
• repair and extending the lifespan of products;
• recycling and recovery of materials.

These measures aim to limit waste production, preserve natural resources and promote a more circular economy.

Why can the amount change?

The amount of the eco-contribution depends on the bracket in which the value of the basket falls.

When you add or remove a product, change a quantity, or apply a discount, the total order amount may fall into a different bracket. The eco-contribution is then automatically recalculated to reflect the new basket value.
