Developed over six months with Keegan Swenson, the X-One-G Ti is aimed at gravel racers riding against the clock. LOOK opted for a patented single-sided mechanism, combined with a platform that meshes with the shoe's lugs: your foot rests on a wide, firm platform, ideal for repeated hard accelerations. With its machined and polished titanium axle, it comes in at 120 g each (manufacturer data, ±3%).
Both are performance-focused, but in different ways. The Race Carbon Ti remains dual-sided: you clip back in without looking, a real advantage in cyclo-cross or XC where you often put a foot down. The X-One-G Ti focuses on stability, with 650 mm² of contact area versus 515 mm² and a more positive engagement, praised in reviews by the specialist press. The trade-off: single-sided entry takes about a week to get used to. Compared with the X-One-G Max, the Ti keeps exactly the same platform and mechanism; it saves 25 g per pedal thanks to its titanium axle.
With a single-sided pedal, get into the habit of flipping it over with your toe before looking for the click: the movement becomes second nature within a few rides. Start with a low tension (5 or 6), then increase gradually if your foot releases too early when climbing out of the saddle. Position the cleat so the axle sits under the head of the first metatarsal and check that the sole's lugs bear properly on the platform: it's this contact that gives the feeling of stiffness. In the workshop, we always grease the threads before fitting, not forgetting that the left pedal is reverse-threaded.
