The X-Track En-Rage combines the dual-sided X-Track mechanism with a forged aluminium cage that widens the support area. In a technical section, when there's no time to clip back in, your foot still finds a stable 545 mm² platform. It's LOOK's entry point into trail and enduro, with a Chromoly+ axle and a mechanism that sticks to the SPD standard.
It all comes down to cage size. The En-Rage Plus goes up to 67 mm wide and 664 mm² of surface, with a 55 mm Q-factor: more support for riders who descend hard or wear enduro shoes with wide soles. The En-Rage stays more compact, lighter than the chromoly Plus (210 g versus 225 g) and less exposed to rock strikes. Compared with the standard X-Track, it adds the cage that makes all the difference when your foot isn't clipped in yet.
On a caged pedal, the interface between sole and platform matters as much as the cleat. Fit the cleat, test it while stationary and check that the shoe doesn't hit the cage before the click, otherwise engagement becomes vague. For enduro, we often recommend a mid-range tension, around 9 or 10: enough to stay attached through impacts without being trapped in a crash. Re-tighten the cleat bolts after your first few rides.
