THE FRAME KIT CERVERO R5 Frameset Five Black / Bronze 2026-2027 Has been designed to offer cyclists an ultra-light and efficient base, ideal for building a mountain bike at the highest demands. Cut for the competition and the ascent of the most difficult passes, it combines rigidity, comfort and precision. Each element supplied with this kit has been optimized to ensure high-end and perfectly balanced mounting.
The Cervéo R5 is a true legend of cycling. For more than twenty years, this model has marked the history of the brand Cervélo, the iconic R5ca to the mythical ascent of Wout Van Aever on Mont Ventoux. This bike symbolizes the ultimate search for performance. In this version, the R5 goes even further with an ultralight chassis of only 5.97 kg (in montages SRAM Red or Shimano Dura-ace) and rigidity adapted to the requirements of the Peloton World Tour. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot has chosen to win at the last round of France women.
Designing a light bike is a step, but create a machine capable of combining lightness, reactivity and maximum return of the power of the most demanding runners is another. Cervélo R5 is designed for long stages in high mountains, whether on the climbs of the Tour de France or on the steep ramps of the Vuelta. True climber bike, it stands out for its climb efficiency, its instant responsiveness in reminders and reassuring stability in technical descents. If the UCI Regulation imposes a minimum limit of 6.8 kg, those that are not forced by this rule will benefit from its feather weight, making R5 one of the lightest road bikes available on the market.
In size 56, the Cervéo R5 displays a total weight of only 5.97 kg, or 900 grams below the limit imposed by the UCI. The frame, in this same size, weighs 651 grams, while the fork displays only 298 grams. In addition to the 100 g reduction on the frame / fork assembly, the brand Cervélo optimized each component for a global gain of 326 g on the entire bike.
The geometry of the new Cervélo R5 remains close to that of the previous version, with the exception of a slight adjustment of the pedal housing to accommodate 29 mm tires. The position was reviewed to get closer to that of the S5. Thus, that the cyclist alternates between these two models like the VISMA team | Lease has bike or rolls only on the R5, it will benefit from a more effective position during fast group outings.
The new HB18 monobloc cockpit allows a lightening of about 150 grams while offering a two-watt aerodynamic gain compared to the old R5. Inspired by the S5 hanger, it was designed to combine comfort, rigidity and performance, ideal for long stages as for the most disputed sprints. In addition, all hanger sizes respect UCI regulations, including after recent updates.
