Trek Inbound+ 2 R8 Lowstep Buff Beige: stay active, even when the road climbs

The Trek Inbound+ 2 R8 Lowstep combines an easy step-through low frame with eight Shimano ESSA gears and a 45 Nm Bosch motor housed in the rear hub. The 360 Wh PowerTube battery locks into the frame, and the bike weighs 21.70 kg in size M according to Trek, including mudguards, rack and kickstand. Buff Beige is a warm, light sandy beige.

For the active retiree who wants to keep riding every day, visit family or go to the club, without dreading hills or swinging a leg over a conventional frame. The eight gears give you the choice of pedalling a bit harder or relying more on the motor.

The Inbound+ 2 R8 LS combines two things customers often ask for in the shop: a Lowstep frame you can step through effortlessly and a proper range of gears. The 8-speed Shimano ESSA derailleur is operated by thumb, and the Bosch motor hidden in the rear hub supports every restart. It's all built on an Alpha Smooth aluminium frame.

In short: 21.70 kg in M, a 360 Wh battery and eight gears: the Inbound+ 2 R8 LS is the versatile Lowstep in the range, between the lighter belt-drive version and the longer-range R10 LS.

An e-bike doesn't remove the effort, it measures it out. With the Purion 200 control's modes and the eight gears, you fine-tune your share of the work: a gentle mode and a low gear to stay fit, a strong mode on a climb. Assistance is limited to 25 km/h, a comfortable speed for riding safely.

The Selle Royal saddle, the 330 mm seatpost and the lowriser bar brought back towards the rider create an upright position that eases the back and wrists. The 50 mm Girona Comp tyres smooth out road imperfections. The low frame also lets you put both feet on the ground when stopped, a welcome safety feature at junctions.

Four sizes, from S (147 to 155 cm) to XL (185 to 203 cm). On a Lowstep, many riders hesitate between two sizes: the smaller one gives a more upright position and a closer bar, useful for looking over your shoulder in traffic.
