For the mountain biker who signs up for the region's raids and XC organised rides and wants a carbon hardtail that is fast uphill, without neglecting safety on descents thanks to the dropper post. It will also appeal to anyone looking for an eye-catching, dynamic bike, available from S to XL.
OCLV Mountain carbon, the off-road version. OCLV is Trek's in-house carbon process: the fibre sheets are compacted under heat and pressure to eliminate micro-voids. The Mountain version is tuned to withstand mountain bike impacts rather than chase the last gram, and the frame benefits from Trek's lifetime warranty. On the Procaliber, it comes with IsoBow: the seatstays extend beyond the seat tube, giving vertical compliance at the rear while saving weight overall.
| OCLV Mountain (Procaliber 9.x) | Alpha Platinum (Procaliber 6 / 8) | Alpha Silver (Marlin) | |
| Level | Trek's mountain bike carbon, lifetime frame warranty | High-end aluminium | Entry-level MTB aluminium |
| Construction | OCLV process, layup focused on impact resistance, IsoBow | Internal cables, threaded BSA, UDH | Simple, robust design |
| Reference bike (M) | Procaliber 9.5: 12.73 kg | Procaliber 8: 12.78 kg | Marlin 7: 14.15 kg |
| What it means | Lighter, rear end flexes over bumps | Heavier, no IsoBow | Versatile, noticeably heavier |
In short: this Procaliber 9.5 keeps the carbon frame and Deore drivetrain, but adopts a Fox Rhythm 34 fork with Float EVOL spring and GRIP cartridge. Trek quotes 12.73 kg in M, 600 g above the Judy Gold version: the gain is measured in fork behaviour rather than lightness.
The 2.40-inch Maxxis Rekon Race tyres with EXO casing are a good compromise for the Béziers area: decent efficiency on dry tracks and enough volume to run low tubeless pressures over stones. On the red earth of the Salagou, very slippery after rain, this volume is reassuring in corners.
The Bontrager Line Dropper post reaches 150 mm of travel from size M to size L, and 170 mm in XL: with the saddle down, the bike is far easier to handle on steep descents. Its bar-mounted remote is easy to adjust in the workshop.
| Model | Frame | Drivetrain | Fork | Weight (M) |
| Procaliber 8 (Eagle 70) | Alpha Platinum alloy | SRAM Eagle 70 T-Type 1x12 | Recon Gold 120 mm | 13.73 kg |
| Procaliber 9.5 (Fox Rhythm) | OCLV Mountain, IsoBow | Shimano Deore 1x12 | Fox Rhythm 34, 120 mm | 12.73 kg |
| Procaliber 9.6 | OCLV Mountain, IsoBow | SRAM Eagle 70 T-Type 1x12 | Fox Factory 34, 130 mm | 12.38 kg |
| Procaliber 9.7 (Rekon Race) | OCLV Mountain, IsoBow | Wireless SRAM GX AXS | SID 120 mm | 11.38 kg |
Our take: compared with the aluminium Eagle 70 Procaliber 8 (13.73 kg), this carbon 9.5 is 1 kg lighter and gains IsoBow. For a sharper race bike, the wireless 9.7 drops to 11.38 kg with carbon wheels.

LVR sizing advice If you are between two sizes, the smaller gives a more playful bike on technical descents, the larger a more stretched-out position for long climbs. The cranks go from 170 to 175 mm in L and XL, and the dropper post from 100 to 170 mm depending on the frame.

| Made for raids? | Yes, that is its terrain: light uphill, reassuring downhill with its dropper post. |
| What tyre pressure? | Set up tubeless, much lower than with an inner tube: we set it with you according to your weight. |
| Is size S possible? | Yes, this colourway comes in S to XL; the S suits riders from 155 to 165 cm according to Trek. |
| Does the bright red fade? | No, gentle cleaning and frame protection at the rub points are all it needs. |

The LVR Cycles verdict A complete Procaliber 9.5 for regional raids, combining the lightness of carbon with the confidence of the Fox 34. Its Fury Red makes its ambitions clear.
