For the rider around Béziers who battles the wind several days a week on worn country roads, and wants a higher position to ease the back and neck.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. For the Domane+ SL 7 AXS, Trek uses its OCLV Series 500 carbon, the fruit of expertise dating back to 1992: each layer is hot-pressed to expel trapped air and ensure uniform strength. The frame houses the TQ motor, its battery and the cables, while keeping mounting points for mudguards and a frame bag. It benefits from Trek's lifetime warranty.

| What it changes | 40 Nm, wireless 1x13 | 60 Nm, Shimano Di2 2x12 | Heavier, SRAM Apex XPLR 1x12 |
In short: the SL 7 AXS shares the frame, fork and TQ HPR40 motor of the SL 6 AXS, but gets Aeolus Pro 37 carbon wheels, a carbon Pro Riser handlebar and the SRAM Force XPLR AXS groupset. Weight drops to 11.47 kg in ML.
Into the tramontane, the effort is spread over many kilometres: the TQ assist provides steady help that stops you running out of steam on the way home. The Pro Riser handlebar, with 20 mm of rise and 70 mm of reach, lifts the torso slightly and eases the lower back without turning the bike into a city bike.
On the often bumpy lanes of the Minervois, the 35 mm Kwaremont RSL tyres soak up the irregularities, and the frame takes up to 40 mm if you want even more comfort. The 160 mm SRAM Paceline X centerlock rotors come off quickly in the workshop.
| Model | Frame | Motor | Drivetrain | Weight (size) |
| Domane+ SL 6 AXS | OCLV 500 carbon | TQ HPR40, 40 Nm | SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 1x13 | 12.11 kg (ML) |
| Domane+ SL 7 AXS | OCLV 500 carbon | TQ HPR40, 40 Nm | SRAM Force XPLR AXS 1x13 | 11.47 kg (ML) |
| Domane+ SL 9 AXS | OCLV 500 carbon | TQ HPR40, 40 Nm | SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x13 | 11.00 kg (ML) |
| Domane+ SLR 7 | OCLV 800 carbon | TQ HPR60, 60 Nm | Shimano Ultegra Di2 2x12 | 12.65 kg (56) |
Our take: the SL 7 AXS (11.47 kg in ML) shares its frame and carbon handlebar with the SL 9 AXS; the SL 6 AXS (12.11 kg) keeps a riser bar, but in aluminium, with alloy wheels. In crosswinds, 37 mm rims remain easy to handle.

LVR sizing advice The Domane+ SL comes in XS to XL. Trek puts the ML between 173 and 179 cm and the L between 179 and 188 cm; handlebar width (36 to 42 cm) and stem length (80 to 120 mm) change with the size. If you are between two sizes, a measurement in store will settle it.
