The straight-frame Trek Inbound+ 2 B is an electric city bike pared down to the essentials: a Bosch motor housed in the rear hub, a 360 Wh PowerTube battery and a Gates belt instead of a chain. It comes fitted with mudguards, a rack and a kickstand, and weighs 20.70 kg in size L according to Trek. Its Buff Beige colour is a very light sandy beige, almost cream, which softens the lines of the aluminium frame.

For the commuter who crosses Béziers every morning, from the station district to the Allées Paul Riquet, and wants to arrive at the office with no grease on their trousers. It will also suit anyone looking for a simple first e-bike, with no gears to manage, for mostly flat journeys.
The Gates belt: the drivetrain you forget about. On this Inbound+ 2 B, there's no chain and no derailleur: a toothed Gates Sidetrack belt links a 60-tooth chainring to a 22-tooth sprocket. It never needs greasing, doesn't rust, won't stain your trousers and runs silently. The Alpha Smooth aluminium frame, with its horizontal top tube, routes the cables internally for a clean look.
| Gates belt, 1-speed (B) | Shimano ESSA, 8-speed (R8) | Shimano CUES, 10-speed (R10) | |
| How it works | Toothed belt, single ratio | Chain and 8-speed derailleur | Linkglide chain, 10 speeds |
| Maintenance | No oil, no indexing adjustment | Standard lubrication and adjustment | Lubrication, parts designed to last |
| Straight-frame version | 20.70 kg (L), 360 Wh | 21.50 kg (L), 360 Wh | 22.60 kg (L), 600 Wh |
| What it means | Clean and quiet, flat towns | Versatile, moderate hills | Long distances, repeated climbs |
In short: the Inbound+ 2 B is the simplest and lightest straight-frame version in the range, 20.70 kg in L. A single speed, a maintenance-free belt and the Bosch motor in the rear wheel: it's aimed at town and its surroundings rather than big climbs.
The motor integrated into the rear hub develops 45 Nm, a figure designed for town: the assistance comes in gently from the first pedal strokes, with no jolt when pulling away from the lights. Like any e-bike, it stops assisting at 25 km/h. The chainset is that of a conventional bike, which frees up space around the bottom bracket and leaves an elegant bike with no visible motor housing.
With a single speed, the 60x22 ratio was chosen for a town pace: easy enough to pull away, long enough to ride at assistance speed. On a ramp like the one up to Saint-Nazaire cathedral, the motor does most of the work and you climb at a slower cadence. The 50 mm Bontrager E6 tyres, with reflective sidewalls, soak up cobbles and kerbs.
| Model | Motor / battery | Drivetrain | Frame | Weight (size) |
| Inbound+ 2 B | Bosch hub 45 Nm / 360 Wh | Gates belt, 1-speed | Straight | 20.70 kg (L) |
| Inbound+ 2 B 540 | Bosch hub 45 Nm / 540 Wh | Gates belt, 1-speed | Straight | 21.60 kg (L) |
| Inbound+ 2 R8 | Bosch hub 45 Nm / 360 Wh | Shimano ESSA 8-speed | Straight | 21.50 kg (L) |
| Inbound+ 2 R10 | Bosch hub 45 Nm / 600 Wh | Shimano CUES 10-speed | Straight | 22.60 kg (L) |
Our take: at 20.70 kg in L, this Inbound+ 2 B is 800 g lighter than the eight-speed version. If your journeys regularly go beyond the town centre, the B 540 version adds 180 Wh for 900 g; if you live up a hill, the R8 and its eight gears make sense.

LVR sizing advice The straight frame starts at size M (155 to 173 cm). Between two sizes, the M with its 70 mm stem gives a more upright position, very comfortable in town; the L and XL move to a 110 mm stem for a slightly more stretched-out position.

| Does the belt wear out quickly? | No, it lasts considerably longer than a chain; we check its tension at every service. |
| Can I ride without assistance? | Yes, the bike can still be pedalled without assistance, it's just heavier. |
| Does the beige get dirty quickly? | A light beige shows mud on rainy days but cleans up with a quick wipe of a sponge. |
| Where is the battery charged? | On the bike or at home: the PowerTube comes out of the frame and locks with a key. |
|
The LVR Cycles verdict The simplest straight-frame Inbound+ in the range: discreet motor, clean belt and full equipment for town. Its sandy beige gives it a soft, polished look, far from the technical styling of many e-bikes.
