For the sporty randonneur and the audax enthusiast who want to keep a steady pace from the first kilometre to the last. The displayed power stops you setting off too fast, the 35 mm tyres limit fatigue, and the integrated mounts take the bags for a self-supported ride.
OCLV carbon, Trek's signature. A carbon frame is weakened where air remains trapped between the layers; the OCLV process, launched by Trek in 1992, compacts the fibres under pressure and heat to prevent this. Series 900 takes the logic as far as it goes, with rigid 3D moulding and fewer overlaps. For you, that means a Domane frame of approx. 835 g, about 220 g less than in OCLV 500, and up to 20 % tougher than the previous 800, which is reassuring over the long term. If this SLR 9 AXS remains lighter than an SLR 7 AXS, it is thanks to the RSL wheels and RED.
| OCLV 900 (Domane SLR) | OCLV 500 (Domane SL) | |
| Level | Trek's most advanced carbon | Entry-level carbon of the road range |
| Construction | Rigid 3D moulding, reduced fibre overlaps | More generous layup with more material |
| Gen 5 Domane frame | approx. 835 g (unpainted, size ML) | approx. 1,055 g |
| What it means | Frame about 220 g lighter and up to 20 % stronger than OCLV 800 | Heavier frame, same Trek lifetime warranty |
Over several hours, the wireless drivetrain has another advantage: no cable stretching or adjustment shifting, and shifters you can operate even in winter gloves. The AXS batteries can be swapped in a few seconds; a spare battery slipped into your bag is enough for peace of mind on a very long day.
The power meter housed in the RED chainset is this version's main asset, with no parts to add. The 48/35 and 10-36 cassette also offer more flexibility on climbs than the 50/34 and 11-34 of the Shimano SLR 9. Before handover, we pair the shifters and power meter with your computer.
| Model | Carbon | Drivetrain | Wheels | Weight (ML) |
| Domane SLR 7 | OCLV 900 | Shimano Ultegra Di2 2x12 | Aeolus Pro 51 | 7.66 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 | OCLV 900 | Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 2x12 | Aeolus RSL 51 | 7.34 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS 2x12 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 51 | 7.29 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS 1x | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED XPLR AXS 1x13 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 37 | 6.63 kg |
| Domane SLR 9 AXS No. 76 | OCLV 900 | SRAM RED AXS 2x12 + power meter | Aeolus RSL 37 | 7.19 kg |
Our take: the SLR 9 AXS weighs 50 g less than the Shimano SLR 9 (7.29 against 7.34 kg) and adds power measurement. To save another 660 g, you have to accept the 1x13 and 28 mm tyres of the SLR 9 AXS 1x.

LVR sizing advice Between two sizes, take the smaller one for agility, the larger one if you mainly ride for long hours. Handlebar, stem and cranks follow the size.
